Asked a local for a recommendation on Steven Street. James Joyce was his call and a very good one.
I loved the fish and chips. Service was good and prices were reasonable. Patio seating outside was perfect for the Stampede day we were there.

Thank Ed J

Traditional Irish Food washed down with a few Pints of the Black Stuff, very enjoyable. Very warm evening so sat outside a good evening was had by all.

Loved this spot!!! Staff were so warm and friendly at all times....best Guinness in Calgary....beaten only by their amazing onion rings and curry sauce. Brilliant atmosphere and will definitely visit again next time I'm in Calgary.

We had fish and chips and shepherds pie. Portions were generous. We sat outside to see the festivities from the Stampede. Everyone must go inside to see the bar and the corner booths. Had an ice cold local beer which was excellent. Met the owner and she was a delight. Many workers are from Ireland so this is authentic. What a nice place and very affordable.

After reading reviews on TA we decided to visit. I seriously thought there must be two places with the same name because our experience of this establishment could not be more different. Tonight it was raining so no outdoor seating.
Inside was rather dreary with poor seating and little or no atmosphere.
We decided on burgers but was not overly impressed with the presentation or quality. Burger was quite small. I have certainly had larger and the fries tasted as though they were not freshly made.
Service was mediocre at best with us doing more to present the meal than the waitress who just put things on the table.
All in all a disappointing visit.
