I hit Montreal last week on Tuesday after the dentist, grabbed a half doz.
(two sesame and the rest plain)
Got them home and after reading all the reviews on line about how great they are I'm left wondering why? Yep, they are all handmade and wood fired, I'll give you that and it also will explain the sorta lame rise in them and some of the burnt marks on them.
What was really odd was they way they made the kitchen cupboard smell after I put them in there for more the next day. Maybe because a few were burnt a bit in a couple of places ..... it was just odd tho .......
They were OK, but yep they make em sweet .... but to be honest I've had better looking and tasting bagels from the Safeway downtown by MEC.
Not great but OK.
