Our (my 2 sisters and I) trip through Canada started off in Banff. We've visited this little village before and knew that it can become rather busy, so we looked for accomodations just outside the village which would also offer 3 bedrooms. We ended up at the Hidden Ridge Resort and were not dissappointed! The 2 bdr condo + loft (a townhouse, actually) #321 was big enough for the 3 of us and offered a very nice view! The 2 bedrooms (both with 1 queen bed) are downstairs at the entry-level. One is a bit smallish (has no real closet), the other one is ok. There is a bathroom between these rooms. Plenty of towels, comfortable beds and clean! On the 1st level is the living area with a vaulted ceiling and kitchen. At first glance everythings looks ok but it actually could use a little upgrading on the furniture & fridge to give it a more comfortable, homey look! The loft area was perfect (1 queen bed) and had it's own bathroom. The upper windows in the living room don't have curtains, but as it is quite dark outside this shouldn't be a big bother for the person sleeping in the loft. HRR was perfect for our stay, we actually liked the ROAM (local) transit which stopped right at our front door and brings you to downtown Banff in minutes! It is included in the rate. Upon check-in we were also given a discount booklet (not sure if that's only in the summer season) which gave us some savings (e.g. on Alpine Helicopter Tours). And there's a big chance that you'll see some wildlife on the grounds .. Elk roam around this area! Overall a good stay, with acceptable rates in low/off season but rather expensive in peak-season .. take into account that the view might get a bit 'spoiled' by the campground closeby.

I gave this resort a 4 because the girls loved this place for the hot tub/pool area which was cool and because the views are great.
The only complaints I have are the dishwasher appeared to have an ongoing leak which the staff didn't seem to be concerned about despite the obvious mildew smell. Also...the rooms need a little updating.
All that said...we had a good time.

First time I stayed here, I couldn't believe how nice it was, I enjoy the stays here every time I get the chance to go to Banff and they have availability. The outdoor hot tub is awesome with views of Banff and the mountain views are epic.

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at. The owner, management and staff care absolutely nothing about hospitality. They care solely about squeezing as many pennies as possible out of every guest.

The rooms are run down, from extreme mildew and black mold in the bathrooms, to abhorrently filthy wall switches, to a broken stove top, to towel racks falling off the wall, to dangerously broken wall outlets, etc., etc. (see photos)

This "resort" is listed as having daily room cleaning. This is a scam. It's not until after your first night staying here that you find out, via a note left by housekeeping, that there is no daily cleaning. They claim to clean the room on the third day of your stay, but that does not happen either. They claim to provide cleaning supplies, but none were provided during our 4 day stay. They leave 2 dishwasher detergent tabs under your sink and never replenish them. We had to call the front desk to ask for everything. There are cleaning supplies such as paper towels or cleaning rags or spray cleaner. They merely replace your towels. That is all. They claim to make the beds, but look at our photos to see how this goes...absolute worst housekeeping of all time.

Hot tub closes over an hour before it's even dark outside.

Staff is incredibly rude. They yell at guests for driving "the wrong way" through the property, despite the 100% absolute lack of any indication that the road is one-way. There are zero arrows, signs or anything posted or painted to indicate that the road is one-way.

Laundry facilities are extremely filthy, tiny (2 old, run-down washers for a large complex) and extremely overpriced. It cost $20 to do 2 loads of laundry.

This "resort" is an extremely loud party mecca on weekends. Every bachelor, bachelorette and birthday party from Calgary seems to stay here on weekends.

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Hidden Ridge "Resort"
