The Inns of Banff is located on Banff Avenue very close to all that is happening in this town.
It is well situated and the staff is excellent. The rooms are tired and do not have air-conditioning
Everyone is friendly and restaurants are good They made our stay very good with their advice and knowledge.

Arrived Banff last night. Lots of smoke. Many vacancies. Called several places. Prices ranged from $289 up for a standard room. Found this place. $199. Now, let me say, I rate according to class of hotel. In other words, how it compares to similar sites. I don't think it's fair to do otherwise. And I don't complain about a price like we got when it's a place like Banff. If you want luxe, pay the price.

It is on main drag but at one end from restaurants and most shops. Parking on site is free and plentiful.

We did get a "superior" room in Building B. Newly decorated. 2 queens, small table and chairs, desk. Spacious. Balcony ok. No real view for us but that was ok. It was late. Exceedingly clean. And I am a freak about it. Very comfortable beds. Bedding bleach white and lovely. Shower nice.

It was quiet too. Though around 8ish I could hear a few doors.

Ate breakfast on site. It was good! Not fancy but good. And the dining room is very pretty. Waiter was very helpful accommodating requests for info and making iced tea for my finicky spouse.

So 4 stars due to one elevator at one end of building. We were on 5th floor and needed it. A little inconvenient. And location might be an issue for some who want to be in the thick of it. Tour bus groups must like this place as there were several here.

We had a comfortable room and we enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. The staff were helpful and friendly. The views over the mountains were incredible, we could barely tear ourselves away from the window.

I'm from Calgary and wanted to stay overnight in Banff so I could do more stuff than allowed by the 2 to 3 hour parking available in town. The visitor's guide (p. 113) clearly states that the rate for low and high season is $58 per night for Swiss Village. I thought this was kind of low, but whatever. Upon arrival in Banff, I checked with front desk and discovered that the rate is actually $249 per night, over 4 times more expensive. This hotel is rated 2-stars. What makes them think they are worth that price?? I've stayed at Las Vegas hotels for cheaper rates than this place and Vegas is more of an attraction than Banff.

Judging from other reviewers, I dodged a bullet by declining these over-priced accommodations. If I ever do decide to stay in Banff again, I know Swiss Village is the place to avoid.

Room Tip: Misleading rates. Don't stay at this hotel.

I am sorry that you felt mislead by the rates mentioned in a local publication androiduser61. Unfortunately we have no control over what is printed here, although we have tried to have this changed. The hotel front desk will always be happy to help guests with rate and availability inquiries.

room was really excellent (once inside) but was off the carpark and adjoining the carpenters yard which was in use (very strange). outside wasn't finished with lots of wires off the wall etc. Staff were very friendly and informative. Breakfast was fine but common rooms had a YMCA feel to them. Overpriced.
