“Super Derbyshire Retreat”
Reviewed 15 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Harrow Cottage is a lovely, cosy cottage.Very spacious, very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a family birthday celebration over Valentines weekend.Libby had left us a welcome pack including a bottle of wine.We ate at The White Lion which is also run by Libby and her husband Greg. The food was excellent along with the service.
We would have no hesitation on returning.Thank you Libby.

“If I could give 6 stars I would”
Reviewed 26 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Great place to stay, great location, excellent host, lovely accommodation!

We saw the great reviews before hand and that encouraged us to pick this particular option amongst many. Everything about our experience was just what we would have hoped for but there was icing on the cake......when we arrived Libby had taken the time and trouble to leave us with some essentials in the fridge for our late arrival. With 3 young children in our party and a very long journey that thoughtfulness was a wonderful welcomed surprise that allowed us to have some refreshments and cereal for the kids before heading off to a warm comfortable bed.

It's clear that Libby truly cares about her guests having a great experience and feeling really welcome.......and that's what made the difference for the 6th star that I would give if I could!

“Brilliant Cottage.”
Reviewed 20 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Three friends and I had the cottage for a short walking holiday. Brilliant cottage. Exceptionally clean. Someone puts a lot of effort into keeping things so clean and tidy. Went walking in Monsal Dale (saw several dippers and the yellowest grey wagtail I have ever seen), Monsal Trail and up Longstone Edge. Visited Cromford Mill on the way home. Libby and Greg, who own the cottage, looked after us exceptionally well. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Ate at the pub/restaurant across the lane run by Libby and Greg. Couldn’t fault anything, the cottage, the pub or the countryside. OK, Derbyshire is not flat so we had to walk up some fairly steep bits but it was worth it!

“Wow! What a beautiful cottage”
Reviewed 3 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

I stayed for 3 nights from 25-28th September 2015 myself and a few friends for my birthday weekend. The host Libby was excellent before the stay checking any requirements and final details. The whole weekend ran so smoothly. The cottage itself is a treasure, homely, warm and clean!! I was surprised with the space in the cottage, lots of space throughout. The parking was good knowing there was space for other guests and not having to worry where they will park (as the hosts own the pub next door). We did order a takeaway Indian one night which we found the details in the cottage handbook and a menu which was lovely and easy. The location is full of adventures and entertainment. We went over to Castleton one day and has booked Go Ape at Buxton for the Sunday. Wish we had spent longer there. Recommended this to friends, family's. Thank you to the owner Libby :)

“Just Beautiful stay in Great Longstone, thank you Libby and Greg”
Reviewed 30 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I had the pleasure of visiting Great Longstone which I thought couldn't get any more perfect and then I stayed at Harrow Cottage. The owners Libby and Greg were very warm and welcoming and this was replicated inside the cottage. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Homemade biscuits in jars which were there to tempt you on the shelves in the kitchen, just delicious!
The cottage is also a stones throw from the Monsal Trail which presents you with some fabulous walks and views.
Another main benefit of the Harrow Cottage is that it is positioned right next to the White Lion pub which is also owned by Libby and Greg so meals and drinks are literally in stumbling distance.
I would highly recommend the Harrow Cottage.
