Stayed for the weekend and from the minute we walked through the door on the Friday to the sad moment we had to leave on the Sunday we were made to feel at home in an atmosphere so welcoming it was like staying with our own family. The room was luxurious, the spa bath and surprise TV in the huge bathroom was sensational and the breakfasts were cooked to perfection. Mike and Emma were great hosts and Forge House will become a regular haunt for our lazy weekends away. We cannot recommend this B&B highly enough, simply stunning!!!

Stayed here for the Chatsworth Horse Trials as only approx 5-10mins away in the car from Chatsworth Estate.

Warm welcome by the whole family... children were very helpful wanting to help Emma bring the milk and tea into the room for us.

Room was fantastic big king size bed and a double sofa bed. Room was large, airy and a great size considering there was 3 of us girls staying there. Bathroom was fantastic: jacuzzi bath with a TV on the wall in the bathroom and a huge walk in shower. Even last minute essentials you may have forgotten such as: Lillets, Shampoo and Conditioner, Bath salts!

Went to the incredible pub/restaurant of The White Lion 1-2 mins walk around the corner from the house. Food was AMAZING. This was all booked and arranged for us by Emma.

We was left with a key to let ourselves back in the B&B after our meal at the white lion.

Breakfast the next day was outstanding: fruit, croissants, english breakfast, beans on toast. Basically what ever you fancy you can get.

It was a home from home and we will definitely be returning very soon!

We stayed at the forge house for a wedding about 2 miles away. We arrived late on the Friday night and were warmly greeted by Emma and Mike who showed us everything in the room and provided fresh milk for tea and coffee. The next morning, we went down for a really delicious fresh breakfast and lots of good advice about getting to the wedding / getting a lunch nearby / cabs etc.

We woke up late on the Sunday and yet Emma and Mike happily cooked me breakfast and even provided fresh coffee and bacon sandwich for my fiancé who'd stayed in bed a bit longer.

Nothing was too much trouble for Emma and Mike, they were so warm and welcoming. The hotel facilities were great. The place is really traditional outside yet inside is modern and airy whilst sticking with the classic feel of the place.

It really was the ideal stay and we would heartily recommend the forge house to anyone wishing to visit the peak district. Thanks Emma and Mike!

With an unexpected chance to stay overnight in the Peak District we arrived to a warm welcome at The Forge House. Very comfortable room with spa bath and lots of little extra touches. After enjoying a good meal at The Crispin in the villaget hat night,, we then had an excellent breakfast before we left the next morning. Emma and Mike are lovely hosts. Would not hesitate to return.

Had a lovely 2 day break at this great B and B , the bedroom was something else ,the bed and all the furniture were top quality ,flat screen tv , fridge lots of room ,the bathroom was luxury itself with a huge spa bath and separate shower and a flat screen tv on wall near the bath. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and Emma and Mike were great hosts. Great Longstone is lovely and quiet with 2 good pubs which both do good food , and is a great base for exploring the area.
