“Absolutely charming”
Reviewed 17 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

The only time that I have stayed in a cyclists' art gallery. I can imagine that any enthusiast would be undecided whether to stay in and marvel at the memorabilia [ posters, models, coasters etc, ] or go out and ride through the beautiful scenery.
The cottage itself has everything that anyone would want. Despite all the nostalgic artwork, it is fitted to very modern standards. It is deceptive in that although appearing almost medieval it does not suffer from cold or draughts and is deliciously cosy.

The owner is incredibly helpful and we have moved the property to the top of our 'must visit again' list.

Wow. What an amazing review. Thank you so much. Very very kind of you & so helpful to other potential visitors. We want our guests to have a really great time, whether they are cycling, walking or even just resting at the Cycle Sanctuary in the Southdowns National Park. Beauworth is doubly fortunate as it is also designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB).

We still have a lot more 'Art of Cycling' that we haven't managed to squeeze onto the wall's yet. Plus we are saving a prime spot to mount 2 vintage men's and lady's bicycles to. We can't wait to get those up.

And, we have to agree with you. Once the log burning stoves are lit, the flames licking out their heat and you turn the lights down, the cottage is just "deliciously cosy" :-)

“Beautiful and lovely”

We had a great time in Miles & Caroline cottage. The place is amazing and the attention to detail they have is astounding. They are very nice and caring hosts, and the neighbors, very helpful ;). Surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Moreover, the nearby pub has great food! We will repeat for sure.

Thank you so much for such a lovely review. We are so pleased you and your family had a relaxing & cosy (once you got the fires lit) holiday at the Cycle Sanctuary and loved our cycling theme. Please come back and stay again. Such a pleasure to have you & your family to stay and enjoy our beautiful countryside and the fantastic "Milburys" Pub.

“charming country cottage”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had an excellent bank holiday weekend stay at the cycle sanctuary. The cottage was beautifully presented and had all the amenities we could have wanted. The cycling memorabilia was charming and made the place feel incredibly homely. Excellent instructions and information about the cottage and local area were dotted around the place and the owner was incredibly helpful and always very quick to respond with any queries we had. Although the weather was terrible, we still managed to sit outside and barbeque thanks to the superb terrace and awning in the garden. Plus, we were able to take advantage of the fire in the sitting room, which we didn’t expect to do in August. Good location, isolated, but walking distance to the local pub, and a short drive away from a number of other excellent pubs. Would certainly come back if we make another trip to the area.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property?

Good to know the Cycle Sanctuary lived up to its name on a wet and windy August Bank Holiday and you had a lovely time. Lighting the fire in August, whatever next? Barbecuing in December perhaps? Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we really appreciate it.

“Best cottage in the world”
Reviewed 9 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Our party of three adults and three small children stayed here for three nights. My 5-year-old daughter described this as the best cottage in the world, and I can't think of any reason to disagree. Am amazingly charming cottage with fascinating cycling bits and bobs everywhere. The owner was very friendly and contacted us about the stay beforehand about any special needs to ensure everything went well. The helpful notes in the cottage were perfect so we mastered the immersion heater with no problem for warm showers and quickly got the fires going and were all snug. The luxury of having two lounges with fires meant there was sometimes one for me and my book, and one for everyone else! Amazingly comfortable beds and everything you could possibly need except ... here it comes, Miles, the only improvement I could possibly think of to suggest .... a hair dryer .. or did we just not find it?

. . . a hair dryer . . . no it wasn't under the bed :-) Now why didn't I think of that? Perhaps because I'm folically challenged. But Caroline has lovely hair and uses a hairdryer . . . Anyway, we've got one now & it's ready and waiting for your return :-) "The best cottage in the world" . . . we love your daughter . . . so sweet and lovely. Thank you so much for writing a review. It's very kind of you and much appreciated by us and fellow travelers. Thank you for coming to stay. We are delighted you had a lovely holiday. Big smiles all round.
