Where to start? what made this place so wonderful, was it Scott being so diligent in his communication before our arrival, or the fact that we were treated like family once we arrived? This little property just fifty meters from a wide expanse of empty beach was like a little paradise hidden away from all the tourists, yet close enough to everything when you wanted a little bustle with the crowds. Scott and Sara were the perfect hosts, both were lovely and very helpful. They are also the perfect combination of people you need and want around when you go to Puerto. Scott is from California and Sara, although she has lived in the U.S. is a local in both Oaxaca and Puerto. The best of all worlds, you might say. The room was very clean and large with a door leading directly out to a lovely garden. By the way, the pool will be ready for you for those early morning or evening swims as well and a bar off to the side. When you arrive through the dirt path that leads to the property the only sounds you will hear are those of chirping birds and some locals. Nearby, are a few mini markets, but also a woman making empanadas under a little lamp and possibly a woman making burgers on a small stand just a block from there, in case you don't want to go to El Centro. Punta beach is just about 5-10 minutes walk along the road on one side, while Zicatela beach is about a 15-20 minute walk on the other. If you would rather not walk, taxis are very inexpensive and come right to the door in less than 5 minutes flat. We absolutely loved our stay with Scott and Sara, their hospitality and warmth, always ready to help and fun. We will always remember this trip with our new found friends. Thank you guys for making Puerto memorable. Keep in touch.
