“All round fantastic!!”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Everything about our stay was lovely! Great price, warm and welcoming communication with Karen beforehand and Mark during our journey over from London. As they were out when we arrived due to us arriving quite late, they had left a yummy cream tea for us which was appreciated after our journey.

We settled ourselves in and found everything really easy - we cooked in most nights and they have a pretty well stocked kitchen although we took our own knives due to our OCD on that front!

On the Sunday, we met them all - Mark and Karen, a couple of chilled out former execs turned dudes, with their young daughter and son who were lovely and absolutely polite and well behaved and super I.e. no worries if you want peace and quiet, you still get it! In addition, there is Dave the whippet and Holly and tail free cat, and one big horse with a teeny horse n the field in front of the house. Dave is so lovely!!!

They were full of advice on where to go based on what we wanted, Mark gave my BF good surfing beach tips and the best beach we found for surfing and walking (for me) is Gwithian, about a half hour drive away. Fab surf and miles and miles if gorgeous coast to Wander, we even saw seals and there was loads of helicopter action.

The location is good, you got sainos and telcos near by if you want to cook at home, failing that Mark and Karen can recommend loads of nice places to eat out.

They are in a really walky place and as such we had a good adventure around the tin mines n the woods.....

Went to Tintagel ( about an hour north) and had the best pasty in the world, in Pengenna........ You must go and get one!

Went to Saint Ives one day which was fine but if you've seen one quaint little town jammed full of cream tea shops then you really have seen them all...!!!

Towards the end of our stay it did been to rain which was fine, it got really cosy in the annex, there were loads of nice blankets to snuggle up with and heaters if required.... As with all old houses, you kind of felt the damp a bit when it was raining but it all adds to the rustic charms of old house full of character.

We paid about £1 per day for the electricity, maybe £1 more on the days we used the heater for a bit ( it was never on for more than half an hour) and we used the electric cooker 1-2 times per day so it really was fine to have the meter, just make sure you got with a stash of pound coins!

The only thing I might suggest is putting a few hooks around the place to hang things, coats, bags, towels etc..... I am a pretty hooky person and did bring a lot of stuff with me! Other than that, storage was good, the wardrobe complete with coat hangers which is a rarity!

All in all we loved it, the location, the house, the people, the time of year..... Would recommend to everyone and we hope to be back again one day - thanks to you all, was lovely to meet you and the animals :-)

“Practically perfect in every way !!”
Reviewed 7 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Well what can we say about this place? Simple really. It is gorgeous, it is set in a rural environment surrounded by fields and lovely countryside, what more do you need on your doorstep. The accommodation is superb, it has everything you need for a perfect Cornish retreat, and the home made scones on arrival were a very nice welcoming.

There is a great walk through the woods, which Doug our spaniel loved, and his new best friend Dave the whippet often tagged along, you will meet and you will love him. The hosts Mark & Karen are fantastic, they will point you in the right direction for everything, and all there is to see is just a short drive away.

In a nutshell this is a superb getaway for couples, the added advantage is you can bring your pooch. Book it and try it, you will not be disappointed...
