We had a great two night stay at the hotel. Woke up each morning to watch the sunrise over the pool and lake - the whole scene - along with the fishing nets, coconut trees, and fishermen going about their work is gorgeous. The hotel is a little worn probably due to age but it's very decently maintained and clean and is comfortable (having done nights on houseboats in other places, we found it much more preferable to stay in a comfortable hotel and opt for a few hour boat ride in the day instead!). The hotel has a pretty boat which can be hired for trips - compared to rates in town, its a good price - though we didnt have time to try it eventually! We arranged through the hotel for an auto rickshaw driver to take us around for the day - highly recommend this over a car if there's just two of you - the distances are not long and you get to soak up the sights and surroundings better! The driver Biji was wonderful - he brought us around the whole day, we watched a gorgeous sunset over marari beach and he even brought us to local festival (w elephants and all) that was happening that night! we look forward to coming back some day!

Our group booked 3 rooms here for a 3 night stay during our 3 week tour of India. The rooms were clean and comfortable with great air conditioning! The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the Kerala thali at the restaurant...delicious!! Also Chicken 65 was out of this world. We need the recipe! I had delicous banana pancakes for one breakfast and we made good use of the expresso machine each morning. My daughter and her friends enjoyed relaxing massages and the famous Kerala oil treatment. The pool was lovely and we enjoyed it each day. I would recommend this resort for a relaxing travel break.

We stayed here on our tour of South India. It is a nice hotel but in need of a refurbishment. Most people who visit here in Alleppey stay on a boat for the night so there is probably not a great demand for hotel space. The hotel seemed empty so we had the pool to ourselves which was nice. The rooms are a good size and the food is ok.

Room tip: Get a lake facing room.

I must say this was awesome property. Wish we had booked more days to stay at this resort.
Room: Neat, tidy and clean. Our room was stepping right inside the pool.
Resort area: Perfect blend of modern and typical Kerala architecture. The pool and garden area is the best. It seems as if the pool and the lake are blending into each other. Just where the pool ends, the lake begins. Perfect place to relax.
Breakfast: The breakfast has good spread of dishes - continental and Indian. Tastes also quite good.

Also resort is close to the beach too.

If you have luxury of days when you are travelling to Kerala, you can spend couple of days at this resort and relax yourselves.

After two blissful days sailing around the backwaters on a rice boat the sail up to the hotel looked promising.......but that was it! Although the room was clean, had a four poster bed , possibly an enviable room with a small patio and direct access to the pool but that is where it ends.

Unfortunately there was a very friendly group of Spanish charity workers who partied in the pool until sunrise.....although there is a hotel restriction of 20:00hrs, personally we would not use the pool as the water was opaque and you couldn't see the bottom!! When mentioned to the front of house staff they said there was nothing wrong with it! Also the coconut trees had no netting & coconuts were lying on the ground close to the sun beds.

The building was showing signs of disrepair ....... Plaster & coving peeling off, mould on the external walls, this could be a lovely hotel but needs a lot of TLC. WIFI was really expensive, although they do have a desk top with free wifi in reception (if the staff are not using it!!).

We were offered a packed breakfast takeaway as we had an early departure but this never materialised. To top it all off it is a dry hotel and this was never mentioned in any literature prior to arrival. On the plus side they did arrange a Tuc tuc driver for us who took us to the local wine coop, took us to a fab beach restaurant for lunch, and new exactly where to take us for our specific shopping needs.

I wish I knew how to upload photos to verify my comments!!!!
