Fantastic stay

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 30 Oct 2015
Having once again returned from a fabulous 10 nights at the Barut Lara, we weren’t disappointed; the hotel and facilities are superb.

Our room was again in the garden area of the hotel, overlooking the pool. The room was spacious and well equipped, quiet and spotlessly clean.

As we wanted a ‘chill-out’ holiday, we did nothing apart from venture to the beach and made use of the spa facilities. We did one day book to go on the hotel shuttle bus to Antalya, but due to lack of numbers, this trip was cancelled. We could have opted for a taxi or bus service to the city, but didn’t bother.

More-so this time, we made good use of the various restaurants, just so that we could have a change from the main buffet restaurant (Divan). Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong at all with the main buffet restaurant, as the food themes alternate every night, and the choice and quality of food is fantastic. We ate at the BBQ restaurant, The Olive (Italian), Akdeniz and Soya (Asian) restaurants – couldn’t fault any of them apart from the food portion sizes at The Olive were a bit on the small side.

The hotel offers lovely pools, clean beach, various bars and restaurants, and daily entertainment schedules with a night-time show. All the staff from the reception desk, restaurants and bar staff, entertainment and spa staff and cleaners are all friendly and happy to help with anything. As this was our third visit to Barut Lara, it was nice seeing some familiar faces and warm welcome from them all.

As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, the only slight thing that would make a difference for us is a no-smoking area outside the restaurants. Because of heave smoking we tended to eat inside, but it would have been nice to eat outside, without inhaling other smokers’ smoke.

Looking forward to return again, with no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a fantastic holiday.

Stayed at the Barut Lara from 14 Oct till 21 Oct for with our 2 children 14 & 11. We had a fantastic holiday. Hotel is 15 mins drive from airport, first drop off which is great, very speedy check in.

Our rooms were spotless and well layed out, food was amazing, lots of restaurants to choose from. You have to book al acarte restaurants in advance(no extra charge)this is a simple process which you do electronically in the reception area, make sure you get printed confirmation!

Plenty sun beds, we didn't book pavilions on beach as the hotel grounds are spacious and well layed out and very relaxing.

The staff are very pleasant and helpful, great at remembering your names.
We tried paragliding which we enjoyed but a bit expensive, also had massage which was very nice.

There are plenty shops 5 minute walk away from hotel. No need to go to Saturday market in Antalya!

Only negatives about hotel are the flies, which can be very annoying in some restaurants. Also had to keep signing into wifi.

Hope to return next year....

Having been here seven times and being our favorite hotel in Lara we had no problem picking here for our eighth visit when the hotel we were originally staying at did not quite suit us.
we Arived on Wednesday 7th October after 4 days at the Paloma Renaissance,we were a located room number 1416 which is excellent with excellent side sea views to the mountains, they did say that it was an upgraded room but I am not sure it was,it cost an extra £400 to change and the Thomas Cook rep told me it was a luxury side sea view,if you book a normal side sea view you will get one overlooking the Kervansarry.
One of the main reasons we left the other hotel was that my wife was struggling to find something to eat, so knowing the food at the Barut to be excellent with excellent choices it was no brainer, unfortunately my wife still struggled here, and I have to admit for a Barut it really was not up to scratch, don't get me wrong it was nice with plenty of it but it was quite repetitive, not the usual variety we have come to expect,we even noticed the menu's in the A La Cartes were trimmed down, they seem to be cost cutting since the refurbishment last year.i also noticed this when ordering drinks in the evenings,I would ask for a Bailey's original and when it came it was the cheaper one,I do not blame the waiting staff for this but I believe the barman has been instructed to serve the cheaper brands where possible, the only way I could guarantee getting the correct drink was to go to the bar myself, some may say this is nit picking but we pay a premium to stay at these hotels and if branded drinks are included and they have them then we should be given them, this is probably the dearest hotel in Lara and it thrives on its reputation for offering excellent service and quality.....the service in general is still excellent the quality is unfortunately slightly lacking.i found service in the evening to be at times slow in the lobby, especially when most times there was only a handful of guests, the female waiters were excellent but I found the males to be less so,in fact one evening we were sat waiting whilst the lobby manager and a waiter were too busy talking to be bothered to serve us ,it took one of the females to do their job.these we're only slight problems and in no way spoilt our holiday...more just an anoyance but when you have been as many times as we have it is not something we expect and i know that we are not the only returning guests to have noticed this.
On a more positive note service in general was excellent in fact guest relations could not do enough for us,my wife is disabled and in a wheelchair and they where bending over backwards to help us,the hotel the grounds and the gardens where excellently well kept as usual, the room was very good with all the usual things we expect ,tea/coffee making facilities,a well stocked fridge, good sized flat screen TV, safe, robes and slippers, we got fruit and chocolates and wine on arival.the room was always clean and the A/C worked very well.you also get a pillow menu.as a wheelchair user the room did not pose many problems for my wife, they are not disabled rooms but the shower is a walk in type with a seat so it was ok.being relatively flat the hotel poses no problems for disabled guests.
the hotel was not overfull so there was no problem securing a sun bed in our favorite location.as for entertainment I can not really coment on that because we did not take in any of the shows.wifi was very good ,I did find we had to log in on numerous occasions but when conected it was good.
to summarise. ..if this is your first time at this hotel then you will absolutely love it and may even wonder what I am complaining about but as a long term loyal returning guest I just feel it is letting it's good name down in certain area's.and therfore on this occasion feel it only merits four stars.i have been as honest as I can and hope the hotel will put these things right....would we return!!!yes of course we would if we go back to Lara because even with these few niggles I still believe it is the best hotel that we have stayed at in Lara and that opinion has not changed.i have no doubt that we will be returning at some time in the not too distant future for our ninth visit.

Room tip: Make sure you get a room facing the mountains or a full sea view ,nit te Kervansarry.

Just got back from a weeks stay at the jewel in the crown of Lara Beach. This hotel may not look so impressive as some others but it excels them in all other areas. We have previously stayed at the IC Green Place, Lara Beach (now the Liberty), Delphin Palace, Delphin Imperial and Royal Wings. None were a patch on the service, friendliness, professionalism and hospitality we experienced at the Barut Lara. We stayed in a regular, land room in the residence complex. It was very clean and not too ostentatious but most importantly very quiet and private. The bed was really comfortable with a choice of pillows from a menu and immediate hot, powerful water in the shower. You got all the normal safety deposit box, mini-bar, coffee, fruit etc. The local pool was small but very quiet and very relaxing. No need to worry about sun-beds and you could still get the pick of the area at 8am. A small restaurant overlooked the pool area called the Turunc. Here you could get breakfast with at table service, freshly cooked to order eggs and omelettes with teas and coffees, again served at your table. It was a little limited but very relaxing. If you wanted more choice you could easily go to the main Divan restaurant but we found the Turunc suited us down to a tee. The Turunc also offered lunch and dinner - both with a full a la carte service including all drinks and table wines plus champagne. Again all in a very relaxing environment where the food was enjoyed along with conversation and camaraderie. No different to going out to a small, fashionable restaurant in London. We also took lunch at the Sandal restaurant by the beach. This again was a la carte but with with a fresh fish bias. No complaints here but it was a bigger place and not quite so bijou. We also tried the a la carte breakfast in the Sofa restaurant by the main Divan. This was divine with delicacies such as kayak (clotted cream) served with fresh honey direct from the honeycomb. For dinner we also tried the Akdeniz twice. Very refined, adult only with live music and fillet steak to die for. The only course that was prepared was possibly the cold starter. The rest of the six course meal was all made to order and quite delicious. The other restaurant we used twice was the Kuyu (Turkish). This again was out of this world. Everything freshly made and if you wanted more - they would make some. Nothing was too much trouble. We also took dinner at the Olive (Italian), the BBQ and on the first night the main Divan Restaurant. The Italian was on par with all the other a la carte's and the BBQ a great deal of fun. To be honest we also really enjoyed the Divan (buffet) which we could not say for many other trips to Lara Beach. Finally for drinks the lobby bar was excellent with international drinks freely available. You just have to ask. The waitress we had most nights (Bengul) soon got used to our call for Gordon's and Schweppes! She was superb along with Adem, who seemed to work all over the place. We are already planning our next trip. This was close to heaven on earth - at a price that was reasonable and great value for money. I think the only thing I could comment against was some of the corridors and fittings were a little tired in places but this was a tiny price to pay for all that was not just good but superb. Finally the gardens are extensive and really well stocked and maintained. They even have their own nursery! However this does result in the population of flies being a little higher than other concrete jungles in the daytime. It did not really affect us but it is worth mentioning. In conclusion, the best by far in Lara Beach.

Room tip: Any rooms around the Residence area seemed to be quiet. Our basic land room was fine

I have stayed in numerous hotels in turkey and I can honestly say the Barut Lara is one of the best if you have kids and enjoy fantastic food, great service and a clean and welcoming environment.

We (2 adults, a 5 yr old and a 20 mth old toddler) just returned from a week at the Barut lara. Ok, the good:

food: excellent, great selection, always something for the adults and kids to enjoy, lots of choice! great to have different restaurants to visit as well as the buffet.

service: most of the staff are 1st class, especially in the buffet restaurant in the kids room. All of the kids club animation team are wonderful, very attentive to the kids and kind.

facilities: wonderful! so much to do. The pools are lovely, very clean and there are lots of different pools to try. The beach is great, well designed, plenty of room. The kids club and play grounds are all very good and the staff are very helpful. The kids disco is especially good for the those under the age of 7.

room: large, clean, modern...you really would not want anything different.

the bad: we have nothing negative to say about this hotel.

we are looking to book again for June next year, we all loved it! my 5 year old cried when we left....
