It’s a beautiful and peaceful place. I had lunch there and it’s ok. There’s not a lot of options in the menu but they are really representative of the state. It’s a little expensive though for just “ok” food.

Thank Martha R

we went there for breakfast one morning and couldn't believe how beautiful the courtyard was. It was a buffet only day but they made an exception and let us order off of the regular menu. It might have been a little pricier than other places but the amazingly beautiful courtyard made up for it.

Ate Saturday night dinner. Food was tasty and service was courteous. Menu is not the most varied nor inspiring, but covers local fare and some dishes for western palates.
Unfortunately, some flour coating was snuck into a grilled fish, making it poison for gluten intolerant diners. No-one there seemed to know what that was and cheerfully offered to scrape away the coating.
Waiter offered some Argentine wine which turned out to be Spanish.
We were asked to sign and initial the bill for the return of the offending fish, something of a first in our dining history.
Three positives:
1. The setting inside a Spanish courtyard with fountain, statues and glass figures hanging from trees is spectacular and perfectly lit for effect.
2. The guacamole was to die for.
3. Price, albeit prohibitive for local wallets, an insane twenty bucks per head.

This restaurant is both elegant as well as colonial. Wonderful atmosphere and great service and food.
Great place to taste traditional cuisine from Morelia.
We tried the breakfast buffet on Sunday, I would say it is a must visit.
Try a table in the terrace (outside), lovely view.

As my title indicates, the courtyard location is great and very romantic if that's what you're looking for. We found the service to also be very good. My problem with it is that the food is just adequate and sometimes cold - probably due to the environment in which it's served. I had the Parmesan chicken which was decent but not unique or especially wonderful, the salad was "fine." The potatoes were stone cold. My husband had grouper prepared in paper (actually foil) and couldn't eat it - which is not at all like my husband. We had breakfast there every morning of our stay and it was average....but occasionally cold. The sweet rolls/croissants were below average.
