Booked our vacation 3 months before our arrival. About 2-3 weeks before our trip received an email stating the hotel is undergoing renovations and that kids play area, kids pool and 2 restaurant would be closed. Of course being middle of summer, could not find any other place to book a room for our family of 5. Im pretty sure at the time of my booking they had already planned to undergo renovations. I doubt major renovations decisions are made 2 weeks before they start. As it turns out, they werent just renovating the kids area, pool and 2 restaurant. They shut down an entire wing (building 2, 7 floors) and part of building 1, 5 floors. Construction going on throughout the day. I just think its dishonest. Why not just shut down the hotel and do the reno? Or at least be honest about it so if people do decide to come, they have the expectation and know what they re getting into. We rented a 2bd grand master suite ocean front. I feel so ripped off. But i learned my lesson. I would stay away from Hyatt Ziva Cabos, at least until u know for sure they are done with the reno. The only good thing about our trip was the staff at the kids club, melissa and kit kat. They love kids and took great care of our kids while we were there, even as water was leaking from the ceiling of their temporary kids club room. Smh.
