We traveled as a group of 8 and from the moment we checked in until tje moment we check out we were all pleased. The staff was very friendly, helpful and inviting. Warm smiles everywhere. All of the restaurants were delicious. We were very comfortable and felt very welcomed.

We just came back from Hyatt Ziva and we had the worst vacation and experience ever. This hotel has five stars which I don't understand at all. We've been to five stars hotels in Mexico and you can't compare it with this one. The room cleaning was not good. The tub and sink drains looked disgusting, orange yuki build on from never cleaning.
We had to run the water in the shower for like 10 minutes to get hot water.
One of the pools overlooking the ocean had missing tiles everywhere.
Kids mini waterpark was bad too, my kids didn't like it at all.
Bathrooms near the buffets didn't work, couldn't flush. People peed and pooped and couldn't flush so it was just sitting there. We mentioned it to a waiter at the buffet but he told us he couldn't do anything about it. We thought he could at least call someone and let them know, but no.
To top it of, our kids got food poisoning and a Bacteria. Two things at once. I'm not surprised thinking of the poor sanitary situation.

We always had a great vacation staying in the other five stars hotels in Mexico but not this one.

Unfortunately I can't recommend Hyatt Ziva hotel at this time. Doesn't deserve five stars, the most 3.

First, I would like to thank you for choosing Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos as host of your recent vacation, our goal is to provide each of our valued guests with a quality service capable of creating unique experiences and worth sharing. It is regrettable to read that we were not able to meet your expectations and I offer an apology for it.
As I always say, for us every suggestion and comment that a guest sends us means too much, since it helps us improve our products and service.
The situations that you experienced are without a doubt something not characteristic of our hotel and I will make the corresponding decisions to correct each of the points mentioned in your comment because this is something that is not allowed in our complex.

I received service that was second to none at this hotel. From the activity specialists like Ximena, to the lifeguards like Jesus, to the bartenders like Rodrigo and David, everyone treated me with respect and excellent service. I strongly recommend you make a point to simply communicate (in spanish if possible) and be friendly to the staff. Their jobs are not easy, and a little bit of kindness goes a long way to seeing this staff as more than just people serving you - they become your friends. As a side note, if you like beach volleyball, be sure to stop by and play a game with Ximena.

Our stay at the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos was made exceptional by the exceptional staff. Every person we encountered did whatever they could to make us feel welcome, cared for and valued. The entire facility and our room was very clean, well tended and comfortable. The five star rating is given based on the excellence of this hotel within its genre. The all-inclusive aspect has some distinct advantages and we opted for the Club room to take advantage of a room with the best view and the added amenities (local phone calls, Club lounge, premium wifi, separate check-in area, etc).

The beach was clean and a marked off area kept all the trinket salespeople at bay. The water was rough, but had some of the most spectacular waves we've ever seen. Quite a few people went in the water most days, but most stayed in the fabulous pools. I did not prefer the too loud activities director leading trivia games periodically at the infinity pool. Plenty of beach chairs & nice sized beach towels and staff will supply an umbrella when you ask.

The coffee shop had especially good beverage options and helado (ice cream) flavors. The ladies working there were outstanding! The restaurants were nice and the variety of choices adequate for a week-long stay. We liked the Spanish restaurant (El Cortijo), the French (Bon Vivant) and especially enjoyed the Hacienda Grill for breakfast and lunch with a view. Buffet restaurants offered international choices. Fresh fruit every meal! Best of all the staff got to know us, often called us by name, and remembered our preferences after our first visit.

Location of the hotel near airport and San Jose was great for us. We did take a cab to Cabo San Lucas to go fishing one day and rode the local bus (cheap, easy and interesting!) to spend a morning meandering through the art district in San Jose.

All in all, it is the staff at the Hyatt Ziva that sets it apart and made our anniversary celebration an unforgettable experience!

Room Tip: Club level room a great choice
