We enjoyed Thanksgiving week at this Hilton and were overall let down for the price we paid and expectations we had. The outdoor amenities were amazing and beautiful! The beach was clean and the ocean was breathtaking. The spa was clean and met our expectations as well! The little things that could be improved and make this resort much better: They charge inconsistently for water and DO NOT provide adequate bottled water in the room. You only get 2 bottles per day and if you want to use this to safely brush your teeth and rinse your mouth daily it’s not enough. You end up paying $8/bottle which is insane. I wish I had known and I would’ve stopped at the store on the way and stocked up but never before have I been to Mexico and not been provided with more than enough FREE water. This was a disappointment. The room we had was a one bedroom suite with a pull out sofa. The kitchenette did not have a sink to clean items and there were no utensils provided so the kitchen cabinets/space was pretty useless. There was a mini fridge and microwave. The sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable (maybe dated?) with springs poking thru and my son slept terribly all week on this awful mattress. There was no coffee machine and they charged $8-9/cup of Black regular coffee!! This was a HUGE disappointment and surprise. I would’ve brought my own if I’d known they didn’t provide it and it would cost me $9 per cup.

The breakfast buffet was $36/person and didn’t include lattes. So-for breakfast be prepared to pay around $160 before tax/tip just for the breakfast buffet and lattes for a family of 4. Super expensive! One morning AFTER paying this, we wanted to take a smoothie to watch the ocean and we’re told we couldn’t take our smoothies with us! As if paying $40/person wasn’t enough…they wouldn’t even let us consume our smoothies outside of the restaurant. This little gesture really upset us and is not the type of service we expect from a Hilton or after paying such top dollar for this resort.

The beach beds and cabanas were all reserved everyday. If you go, you MUST book these in advance if you want any chance of getting one not to mention one with a good location/view. ($70/day for daybed by pool, $200/day for cabana).

Overall, for the cost of this resort we had higher expectations for quality of service and experience. Little things could be done to help!More
