We just got back from Cabo this morning! I couldn't wait to write on this website because I found it so helpful to us before booking and leaving for our trip to Cabo. I booked the Hilton based on this website and a word-of-mouth suggestion from a friend who had used this hotel's pool while in Cabo and highly recommended the hotel. It was an immaculate hotel and lived up to the reviews that I read before coming. We were given the margarita at check-in and check-in was as easy as we had read. We were bombarded however in the airport by the time-share people and naively signed up for one of them. The morning that we scheduled the tour, we were aproached by another company (literally on our walk from the hotel to meet the cab) and we were taken to another location altogether. We were promised a discount to swim with the dolphins and a free sunset cruise, cab fare to the airport, etc. My advice....ask for as much as possible while there. We didn't end up buying a time share but they have to make good on their promise regardless. Although, they were fully booked with the dolhphins and we sadly never got to see them. I guess it was worth our time, but be prepared to stay much later than the promised 75 minutes, They won't take NO for an answer. Just make sure you ask...We just got back from Cabo this morning! The HIlton was beautiful and the staff very helpful with EVERYTHING! We slept late each morning and there wasn't much left for breakfast besides the Deli. Not very tempting. There is definitely a lack in variety of food choices at the Hotel. We had Miami Vices everyday at the pool and quesadillas or nachos. Just basic, nothing over the top. My husband is a picky eater so we ate mostly at recognizable places like Ruth's Chris in Cabo San Lucas. Cabo was like a typical spring break location. Loud bars serving Jello shots. Nothing against that, but I feel like I'm too old now!! (I'm 27!) We can't hang anymore! Most of the well known bars are OVER-RATED!!! Sadly, we never saw San Jose Del Cabo. If I went back, I would definitely visit that town. I would recommend this place to people living on the West Coast. I wasn't overly impressed coming from the East Coast. I would stay within the Caribbean if coming from the northeast. We are from Boston and it was a long way to go for the sun. The weather was gorgeous the entire time but i feel like we could get that in most southern places. Also, the distance we were from Cabo and San Jose was really too long. It was a 20-25 minute drive each way and that's too long in my opinion. There isn't enough going on at the hotel at night to stay there, but the ride to town is very long and boring. Bring a drink to entertain yourself. I loved the Hilton and wouldn't recommend staying downtown, but it's location is just so far from everything that it makes it hard. I guess I just pictured something much different than we experienced. I felt like it was like Arizona with beaches. Beautiful, but I wouldn't rush back on my next vacation unless I lived in California. If you are going to Cabo, I would stay at the Hilton, but know that you are nowhere near anything else and I wouldn't recommend renting a car. It's too long a drive and dark at night esp if you plan on drinking. It's a $25 cabride or you can pay $11 eahc day for the use of the hotel shuttle to town, but be aware that it runs only at certain times. I assumed it ran back and forth allday but that's not the case. The first night we missed it by 5 minutes and had to pay $50 total in cabrides that night on top of dinner and drinks. The $$$ starts to add up quickly! Have fun. I don't mean to put the vacation down, but it's a lot of $$$ and very far from nightlife. If you plan to hang out at the resort, than this is definitely for you.
