IF you want to be in the heart of historic SJC, near good food options ,shops, art and history and IF you want to avoid big tourist hotels, cheap food, and the beach, stay un this quiet little hotel. It has one of the two best SJ restaurants (Mi Cochina) and the best oyster bar on the Baja, a small pool and nice but not George Cinque rooms. We had wanted to stay here after several years of dinners during the festival. Loved our stay with the friendly and helpful staff, the quiet pool and convenience to downtown San Jose.

Room Tip: Upgrade from the small standard rooms if you plan to stay in your room and miss San Jose.

My wife and I spent 5 nights at Casa Natalia. It is a haven in the middle of the old town of San Jose del Cabo. It feels secluded despite the bustle outside. The town plaza and surrounding streets are currently undergoing a major refurbishment which will look very good when completed but means the seclusion of the hotel is even more important. We had a spacious ground floor room with a small patio area overlooking the pool. It was very comfortable and well maintained by the staff. The whole outside space, comprising the pool area, a seating area and the restaurant is delightful. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel has its own restaurant, Mi Cocina. The food is very good, more a fine dining destination than most of the surrounding restaurants, but is also correspondingly more expensive. We found plenty of other good restaurants within a short walking distance of the hotel. If you want to avoid the mega-resorts along the coast and enjoy the old town, I would thoroughly recommend Casa Natalia.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Casa Natalia. We are glad that we stayed in San Jose del Cabo rather than at one of the big resorts. The hotel was beautiful and all of the staff were very nice. The good, hot shower was especially appreciated after 3 days of camping on the beach! The only thing I would mention (not the hotel's fault) is that there is construction right in front of the hotel but we were towards the back and didn't hear it. We could hear a bit of road noise from our room but it wasn't noticeable when we closed the windows near our bed. (and it died down at night)

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back may have a bit of traffic noise.

This hotel was beautiful! It is right in the plaza which is really cool and offered good restaurants and shopping nearby. The staff was amazing, the food at the restaurant was delicious and it was nice getting breakfast delivered to the room in the morning. There is free parking on the street behind the hotel which was safe and easy to find. The bedrooms are so pretty and it was great to relax on the hammock by the pool or in the privacy of our balcony.

The whole experience at the hotel makes this a well deserving 5 out of 5 ranking, but what they did after we checked out was AMAZING!!! We went to our rental car to head to the airport only to find out that our battery had died... The staff came right to the rescue, they helped call Hertz(who ended up not answering the phone and being slow to respond). While I tried getting roadside assistance from hertz, Fernado and another employee were being so helpful! They tried pushing the car to get it running and finding a way to charge the battery. They ended up getting the battery out and getting it jumped in another car. I cannot express how thankful we are for their help and they were so kind through the whole thing. We were able to get the battery charged and put back in our car and made it to the airport in time to fly home.

I would highly recommend this hotel for the relaxation, food and wonderful staff!!

Room Tip: All the rooms face into the pool and offer a semi-private balcony/porch area. I think you would be pleased in any room.

The hotel is squarely on the plaza which means you can’t stop in front because the plaza is just for pedestrians. The closest approach is on the north side, but due to plaza construction you may not be even able to ‘stand’ there. The other option is to temporarily park on the south side of the plaza, walk up to the hotel, and the staff will happily help you with bags and then drive your car to their free parking and guarded area. Go with the driver do you’ll know where to find the car. The parking spot is very close but you’ll never find it on your own on the first go around due to one way streets.

All that said, the staff is most helpful, the food truly excellent, and the plaza construction won’t bother you by noise (nonexistent) but for limiting temporary ‘standing’ nearer the hotel than the other side of the plaza.
