“A truly memorable stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2012

We stayed in the one bedroom king suite with a full kitchen, dining room, living room ,two full baths and two balconies. Our suite was immaculate and the views were priceless. The resort has everything you need. Wifi which has a daily fee is hit and miss in the rooms but works great out in the common areas. There is also a business center where you can confirm your airline tickets and print boarding passes for free. We ate at all the restaurants and attended some of the fiestas. Overall the food was pretty good and people who bought the all inclusive meals and drinks thought it was a great value. Happy hour comes twice a day which makes drinks a bargain. The location is very convenient to the marina where the majority of activities originate. Just a short ten minute walk which really cuts down on taxi fares. We walked every where and always felt safe. The people are friendly and always willing to help you out.
The sanctuary spa is really nice. My husband and I enjoyed massages and just soaking in the salt water jacuzzi. Massages are also offered in a cabana on the beach. Speaking of the beach since the resort is located on the Pacific Ocean side ocean swimming is not allowed. The water is just too rough and dangerous. However, there are enough pools and jacuzzis at the resort to handle the guests.
Our balconies were wonderful. One was off the living room and one off the bedroom. Since we were on the third floor the view was breathtaking. Our morning coffee was always enjoyed there.

The staff is great and is prompt in handling any problem. The resort made sure your needs were met.
We had a fabulous time and are already making plans for next year.

Room Tip: The third and fourth floors have the best views since you are above the palm trees.

My husband and I stayed here in July for seven days and LOVED every minute of it! This has got to be the cleanest hotel that I have ever stayed at! The grounds staff make sure to keep the place immaculate and you can tell that they take pride in what they do. Speaking of staff, special props go out to Armando and Miguel who are waiters at the pool. They made us feel like royalty every day, making sure that we were well taken care of. We had a beautiful room that I could have probably lived the rest of my life in if given the opportunity :o) Oh the view from our balcony!
Now I am going to point out some things that other reviewers might have missed mentioning:
1. I know that a lot of guests choose the All Inclusive meal plan or opt to take a taxi ($$) to a local grocery store to get food for their stay, but there is the Marketplace in the lobby that stocks pretty much everything that you need at reasonable prices (break, milk, eggs, cereal, chips, deli meat, fruits, coffee, toiletries, medications, sun tan lotion, etc.) 2. Mexican Fiesta Night - don't think about it, do it! For $39 pp, you get all you can eat (excellent Mexican food!) and drink with great entertainment! 3. Two for one drinks at the pool daily from 2 - 4. The drinks run $6 - $10 each. Great deal! 4. There is an adult pool which is great if you want some peace and quite. There are also lounge chairs on the beach that you can use for free. This is a private beach, so you will not see any vendors trying to sell you things. 5. Logistics - you are 15-20 minutes walking distance to town (i.e. Una Mas! bar, Cabo Wabo, Paraiso Shopping Center). It's about a $6 cab ride from the hotel. Not bad! A cab from the hotel to Playa Medano is $10 -$12 one way. We did this to go to Edith's, the Office, and Hacienda Cocina and Cantina. The streets are very safe and we had no problems walking from town back to the hotel at night. Closer to the hotel (5-10 minute walk) are three restaurants that I highly recommend: Hacienda del Coyote - We went there our first night. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the restaurant and then you have the option of doing a 5 minute walk or taking a $6 cab ride back. Moro's Shrimp House - great food, service and value! Salvatore's - serves amazing italian food and they are known for their lasagna and tiramisu. 6. You are a five minute walk to Cabo Adventures Dolphin Center. This is where the majority of tours begin. PLEASE do the Outback Camel & Safari tour! What an amazing experience! The tour includes riding a camel along a private beach, learning about the plants and animals in the surrounding area, a tortilla making lesson, the most amazing authentic Mexican lunch and a tequila tasting class. We left the hotel at 8am and were back at the hotel by 1:30pm! Just in time to get back for the 2 for 1 drinks special at the hotel :o) I can't wait to come back to this hotel and enjoty it all over again!

If you are looking for a property that's a very short cab ride to the bars (Squid Roe, the main one, and a fun place called Happy Ending that has beer pong), this is a good bet. The regular room was very nice - much larger and nicer than US hotels. We had 3 people and it was not cramped at all. There is one king bed and a pull out couch that goes into a queen. The decor of the rooms is really fantastic -- mayan style. High cielings. Our room opened right onto the pool deck. The main pool has a fun bar - Armando will hook you up! At checkout, I was pleased to find that no scam charges had been added, and the hotel has signed receipts for everything they charge you for. Drinks and food are kind of pricy, but no sticker shock -- we got a ton of drinks at the bars for 3 people, and 3 meals at the restaurants - final bill was $400. The staff was very nice and accomodating, and we never felt unwelcome in spite of our loud, party focused group. I wouldn't say this place is "family/quiet" or a raucous party spot, it has something for everyone. It was off season when I visited, but the room rates were very reasonable. Highly reccomend.

I was lucky enough to visit the Playa Grande Spa and what a treat it was! It is such a beautiful spa with all the staff being so nice and helpful. The spa itself is beautiful. The terrace pool is amazing they called Sanctuary where you find this ancient Temazcal cool experience! I enjoyed a massage from Alheli and I can honestly say that it was the best massage I have ever had. Cas thanks for the recommendation! The massage rooms are so nice and relaxing where you hear the beautiful water fall. It was truly heaven. I have been to many spas all over the country and Playa Grande´s goes over and beyond. Without any hesitation, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a truly fabulous spa experience! No wonder why they are in the top ten best spas of Mexico AND Central America

Great place , great location! The pool was amazing , the beach is close. The staff is very attentive and helpful. We love the location cause it's close to downtown and just a short walk to marina and the water taxis. To me it was a 10 of 10!
