“Gorgeous and quiet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2012

Quiet, no vendors, clean restrooms, palapa umbrellas. Half way between Los Cabos and San Jose. Beautiful coves and calm waters for swimming or wading. Would have loved to spend more time there.

“Chileno is the Best in Cabo for Snorkeling”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

We stayed with friends at a condo in San Jose del Cabo in February 2012 and visited Chileno Beach one of the days we were there. We had previously taken the Tropicat boat to Chileno during a cruise that stopped in Cabo, and that was great - but spending the entire day on the beach was much better. The water is clear and the fish are abundant - a fantastic place for snorkeling with several outcroppings of rocks and a good reef. We watched the snorkel boats come and go throughout the day, and timed our swimming so that we weren't in the water with 50 other people. We had a large clamshell and umbella to provide shade, and sunscreen is still recommended. The fine grained sand is great to walk on, but tough on cameras, so be careful! The public bathrooms were not well kept - which is the only negative comment I have for this place.
It is a beautiful location, and we hope to go again in the future!

“Our favorite snorkeling beach!”

Don't forget to take some bananas, the fish will eat them right out of your hand. No need to go into the deep water, the fish will come to you!

“Who needs Hawaii ,when we have it this good ?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2012

I live in Los Cabos and we regularly go to Chileno Beach . It is between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo . Really nice beach , not huge but great for sun and swimming and some decent snorkeling around the rocks that jut out into the sea . Safe for swimming and usually small waves . Clean sand and clear water . There are several Palapas for shade and get there before 10 am in tourist season . Easy 3 minute walk ,very level and even easy for older folks . There are bathrooms but can be a little messy at times . Sun is hot here so bring sunscreen and extra umbrellas . Great views and a few snorkeling boats will come by at times . No worry about the car as they have a security guard who sometimes accepts a coke or 20 pesos for our appreciation . Hey ,who wants to stand around in a uniform in the heat ?? Nice place to spend some quiet time with family and friends . Looks for signs and it is easy to get to .. Bring a cooler and some cold beverages and Enjoy ! There are also recycling receptacles when you leave , so please use them . Thanks and enjoy !

“Great beach where you can actually swim!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2012

Nice beach. Has little cabanas for shade and a restroom (although I didn't use it so I can't comment on the inside of it). No food or drinks for sale so bring your own. Water is cold but the view is beautiful. Would be a great lunch spot and a good place to bring young swimmers.
