My wife and I had a great day of fishing 10/30/11 on the 28 ft. Andrea with Orlando and Nicolas. (I believe Nicolas is a captain who was subbing in for the usual mate that day.) As we were heading out, Orlando asked if we wanted to go for marlin, tuna or dorado. Since it was our first trip out, we were looking for fish to take home and said tuna, and they delivered in spades. After a bit of a slow morning, we got into the tuna hot and heavy, with 2-3 strikes at a time. Thankfully, the Andrea has 2 fighting chairs, so we didn't have to use the belts. We ended up with 19 Yellowfin for the day, most 20-30 lbs., 2 around 50 lbs., and the largest weighed in at 62 lbs. Needless to say, it was a great first day of fishing in Cabo. Our coolers were full, and we could go after bigger game on the next trip (review to follow).
Pisces is a top-of-the line fishing outfitter, and I have fished from Hawaii to Bermuda, and many places in between. The boats and equipment are clean and well maintained. The crews are extremely experienced and professional. There is good contact within the Pisces fleet as to what lures and locations are hot on that particular day. Orlando and Nicolas on the Andrea were efficient and professional, and had no problems working with my wife (a novice fisherwoman) despite the fact that she speaks no Spanish.
P.S. I know it is called fishing and not catching. This review is based primarily on the quality of the service provided, and not the fact that we happened to catch lots of fish.
