El Vergel is a beautiful spot just outside of San Miguel down a bumpy rutted road.....
What a lovely surprise the first time you pull into the parking and see the lovely restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is attentive and friendly and the staff couldn't be nicer. I have had the Eggs Benedict and they are photogenic and really more than I can eat. My husband has had French Toast and a couple of different sandwiches. Looking forward to our next time at El Vergel!!

Delicious food in a country ambiance. I love breakfast outside on the patio. Homemade bread, latte, fruit .. wonderful oatmeal or eggs.

At first this charming bistro put effort into the cooking and charm into bringing you back but now after a year the god has lost its luster and the service has declined along with it. Perhaps it is because the Chef is too busy kissing and greeting the guests instead of paying attention to the flavorless food slowly coming out of the kitchen.

The place is lovely but the last two visits I have noticed there is a problem with flies and they are everywhere ...i am also really put off by the service, it's like they just don't pay attention. The food was good , except for the sausage it was like rubber. I asked twice when I ordered for a glass of ice with my 40 peso tiny orange juice and never got it that happened last time as well, it like he just ignored me...and it took multiple try's to get the check.....again like we were just ignored. This place charges way to much to be riddled with flies and offer such lackluster service.

El Vergel is a great restaurant for an escape from the city! Only 10 minutes from El Centro but a world apart in atmospherse (this is considered El Campo). This lovely French Bistro has an excellent menu and is well executed by Chef Magna. Try Tuna Tartare, Fried Calamari, Vichysoisse, Steak Frites, Duck Conftit or Pasta with Seafood! All are delicious. Only open til 6pm Tues-Thurs and Sunday. Mondays they are closed. On Friday and Saturday nights they have live music til 8:30 (they close at 9). Do yourself and get out of the city and take a taxi or Uber to the country to experience this wonderful little restaurant!
