From Playa del Carmen we took the Chizen Nitca tour with Valladolid and some cenote, i can't remember the name of the cenote anymore. The first "30min toilet stop" in the middle of nowhere i couldn't really understand. It was random tourist trap with possibility to take pictures with a man dressed as a mayan and buy souvenires. The second stop Valladolid seemed like an interesting small old city but our tourguide didn't say anything about the place. We had to walk around our own for 30 min. It seemed like a waste of time to look at the houses and streets without tourguide. Then we visited the cenote for 1 hour but after you see the mass of people in that small hole it just loses the meaning and excitement. We prefered to drink coffee for 1 hour. After that we had a "mexican lunch" that was actually a continental. And the last stop was Chizen Nitca. We arrived quite late, around 2:30 pm and it was really hot, the sun was allready high. For some it was too hot to walk around. Luckily tourguide talked about the site but too often it was hard to understand he's english so we had bits of information that we had to but together to understand about the site.
All in all the tour has some potential to be a lot better but at the moment we feel like we can't really suggest it to others.
I suggest you make the first stop at Chizen Nitca, then offer real mexican lunch and make a guided tour in Valladolid aswell. Drop the over crowded cenote.

A lot of the reviews for Easy Tours Chichen Itza on here are TERRIBLE so I wanted to share our experience: a good tour for the money!

Key things to know: this is a budget tour and you should adjust your expectations accordingly! If you want a bespoke tour, you will need to pay more. Also, the Easy Tours staff are drivers, not tour guides. They will drop you off at an attraction and then drive on when everyone is back on the bus. If you want a tour guide to take you around every site with info and perfect English, maybe this tour isn't for you. A top tip that our AirBnb host gave us (too late!) was that Chichen Itza is a great place to buy souvenirs! There are so many stalls there that I assume they all drive each others' prices down.

The tour: We were the first pickup on the route and the driver (Miguel) was on time. We waited for two others who never showed, and this may have made us a little late for the following pickups - not Miguel's fault.

After everyone is on the minibus you are driven to a small cenote where all the Easy Tours buses congregate for a toilet break before the journey proper starts. I would rather not have stopped but it allows the tour to redistribute people around the buses and gives a chance for toilet and snacks. We stopped here for 15 mins.

We then drove to the Il Kil cenote where we stayed for 90 mins (?). Due to our poor Spanish and the time difference due to crossing state lines, my partner and I weren't 100% sure what time to be back on the bus so I'd recommend making absolutely sure before you jump into the cenote waters! The cenote was wonderful and really fun to have a dip. There are showers, changing rooms, toilets, lockers, etc.

We stopped again at Valladolid for 30 mins. Not really long enough to do much except wander around the nice town square, admire the cathedral and buy a snack. Again, if I was doing this day myself, I would rather not have stopped, but it broke up an otherwise long drive.

Lunch was next - a buffet - which was fine. Enough veggie options to keep us (two vegans) happy, nothing to write home about. Food included but you pay for drinks.

Next was Chichen Itza! Again, all the Easy Tours buses pull up together and everyone is given the option of going with a tour guide in their language. Ours, Pastor, was great. We had about an hour with him with lots of interesting details about the site, then around an hour to wander on our own. The Chichen Itza site is huge and this tour does not give you long enough to see every corner of it. However the time we had was plenty to see the main parts.

In summary - this tour was fine and we (quite experienced and easy-going travellers) got what we expected. I'd say the Easy Tours description as a 'deluxe' tour isn't quite on the money but it was a good way to see Chichen Itza and a couple of other sites on a budget.

We took the day trip to sian kan nature reserve. Now we really enjoyed the reserve and its offerings and i would like to be very clear that the low rating is not about the reserve but about the tour company. We were picked up and greeted by Jesus. OMG. Within thirty seconds his sexual inuendos started and didnt stop for the next 10 hours. He set the womens movement back 50 years and I found it very distespectful, uncomfortable and quite honestly, DISGUSTING. We were picked up in a van that shook like it was going to fall to pieces. We felt very unsafe. We exchanged the van for jeeps in Tulum to make our 60 km adventure down a bumpy dirt road. When we booked we said we were not interested in driving so Jesus was our driver. He drove like a mad man while with the music blaring. He also blessed is with gyrating moves, how lucky!!! $&@hole! 3 hours later we arrived in punta allen. We were offered a luke warm ham and cheese sandwich with mayo that had been "brewing" in the sun. Yum yum! And a nice coke to wash it down! We then took a boat ride to see wild dolphins and turtles. This part was great except they were not equipped with proper sized lifejackets for everyone. We then went to a beautiful shallow, crystal clear turquoise swimming area. Awesome. By this time , around 6 hours after pickup people were asking for water. Nope. No water. BAD BAD planning. 6 hours of rough road and hot sun and no water. Luckily another family had packed some drinks and offered them to others. Then back on the boat and back to punta alen for a buffet style lunch which was ok. We then got back in the jeep for our return. We stopped at a bridge to see crocodiles. There aren't any guard railings and could be dangerous to fall in, especially after the rough road and dehydration. When we got back in the jeep he came to us with a hat asking for a tip. I asked "you want a tip now?" Very uncomfortable. Jesus decided he was going to drive like evil knievel again and on one of his dangerous swerves he almost ran off the road and had to jerk the wheel hard to avoid crashing. We cracked our heads together in the back seat and both of us had stiff necks and a major headache. Too bad he had already got his tip! In the end we did arrive back to our starting point in one piece but i honestly don't know how. I definitely recommend going to sian kaan but please do not chose this company to get you there. They have absolutely no concern for your safety or comfort. Go with another company.

We are very sorry about your bad experience. Our drivers know the security program and the traffic regulations, thanks for giving us the information about the driving of Jesus. Easy Tours takes very seriously the accusations of sexual harassment. We would like to know more about the behavior of Jesus with you. Please send us more details to easytoursmexico@hotmail.com That situation is unacceptable for us. We are going to start the process versus Jesus for the unsecurity conditions that he has made feeling to our customers.
