The hotel is in a great location, close to the bus station and the ferry. It's clean, safe and comfortable. It's just off the busy Fifth Avenue so it still can be loud at night (the air conditioner is so quiet it doesn't drown out the noise). But it had hot water, a room safe, a coffee maker, TV, beach towels, refrigerator and free potable water. Even though the hotel said they were full, I rarely saw or heard anyone else. The front desk was very helpful in recommending restaurants and activities. And although Fifth Avenue establishments are expensive and cater to tourists, one block from from the hotel (away from the beach) was a great local al fresco restaurant serving big breakfasts for about $3 US.

It would've been even better if the hotel had balconies. After coming back from the beach, and before going to dinner, it would've been nice to have a place to relax and sit outside. And the hotel really needs blackout curtains to avoid the green neon outdoor lights from the hotel across the street. There is no elevator in this hotel, and the bed is rock hard. But these are minor nits. It was a very nice place to stay.

Another wonderful stay at Hotel Delfin with my wife and son! The location is perfect! The top two penthouse sweets overlook the ocean and main tourist boardwalk. This hotel is for people who want to experience the local culture and be at the center of 5th avenues restaurants, bars, shops, ferry and of course the beautiful beach!

El Delfin is right on 5th ave in the middle of everything, super convenient, close to the ferry, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, all within walking distance. Staff was nice and courteous, AC mighty cold, great deal.
Bueno, Bonito y barato!

We just returned from a week's stay here, and couldn't have been more pleased. We have spent time at 2 other places in PDC, but this is the best and the cheapest. The room was really large, a double bed and a table and chairs, and lots of storage. We stayed in Room 4 on the second floor, facing 5th Ave. The restaurant across the street played jazz starting at 7 am, which was very enjoyable to wake up to. (But the music was kind of loud until 11:30 pm.) We loved looking out the big windows and watching the street scene. There is a bench right across the street to sit out at night, a free pastime and fun-bring a cushion though! The hotel was very clean and I thought the bedding and towels were extra nice. The maid and the desk folks were all friendly and helpful, even though we do not speak their language. Having a refrigerator and unlimited water from the dispenser were a real convenience and savings. Although a balcony was promised, if you look at the photos there really is only one on the top. Cabs were available right on the corner, but if you walk 1 block up, to 10th ave. they are cheaper. The location is perfect, cafes, restaurants, and especially the beach are all within a block. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: There are no ground floor rooms, but the staff will help you carry your bags.

We were so happy with choosing Hotel Delfin after looking at many hotels in Playa! Quaint Mexican hotel with cultural details in the heart of 5th and playa. Easy walk from ADO stop when arriving, easy to get to collectivo for day trips and anywhere on 5th etc. Felt extremely safe at all hours (got back at 4am one night) with a front desk that is manned 24/7. English isn't the best but staff are all super nice and we just used a translator app on our phones and they were happy to accommodate. This hotel is clean! It's not 5 star but for what it advertises it is, it lives up to every expectation, especially for the price. Hot water (lighter pressure but perfectly acceptable), regular and beach towels, wash cloths, bar soaps, mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, bottled water jug on each floor, hair dryer, daily maid service (40 peso tip per day-our choice). No balcony if your not in the penthouse rooms and no full length mirror. Room was surprisingly quiet given the location. Once the window was shut it felt like you were far from 5th ave. If your high maintenance, go elsewhere. If you just want a clean, comfortable room with the best location and no frills, look no further.

Room Tip: Room 7 has two double beds and a large bathroom
