We stayed in 417 on a recommendation from friends and we weren't disappointed! It is a penthouse with two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. But the best part was the private deck on top of the unit accessed by a spiral staircase. The roof has a grill, mini refrigerator & sink, a hot tub, some lounge chairs for laying out, a bar, and possible the best view of the ocean in Maya Villa. It is indescribable! We enjoyed cooking some of our own meals in the full kitchen inside. Also included is access to the gym and to Indigo Beach which is only a block away. Maya Villa is also walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and shopping areas with only a one block walk to 5th Avenue, the popular pedestrian street. We'll be back again!

Room Tip: Room 417 has the best ocean view from the rooftop deck.

If my home was more luxurious, comfortable, and clean... it'd be just like the Maya Villa Condo Hotel. Number 408 is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom penthouse, and it's delightful. We lounged around in the living room and on rooftop terrace. We cooked in the kitchen and dined on the balcony.

The staff was very attentive and helpful. The location was convenient and beautiful. Close to the beach and major shopping area. I particularly liked the water cooler and endless supply of drinking water.

This was our 3rd consecutive year at Maya Villa (group of 3 couples). We chose Maya Villa due to their friendly, trustworthy staff, and because it has everything we are looking for.
We enjoy cooking some of our own meals in their very nice full kitchen, we exercise daily at their fantastic gym, we also spend time relaxing at their beach club.
The condo is walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and shopping.
There are also some great fishing packages within walking distance on the beach. This year we caught a White Marlin (unfortunately the season for White Marlin fishing wasn't open so we only came home with pictures).

This year we were welcomed back as special returning guests and received a delicious complimentary buffet dinner at the beach club and a bottle of wine in our condo. Very nice!

Room Tip: We do not have a favorite room, the ones we've stayed in have all been very nice.

We stayed at Maya Villa after researching many All-inclusives and stand-alone hotels/condos. We went away from the all-inclusives so we'd be more free to explore. Maya Villa is located in an ideal spot between the ocean and the 5th Ave strip. The condo itself was very nice and roomy. We stayed in #412, first floor. Kitchen fully outfitted for cooking. Adjacent living area with TV. Great grocery store called Mega nearby that we stocked up at our first day of 5. Bedroom was huge - lots of storage, firm king bed, flat panel TV. Nice tile bathroom with shower. Some noise from bath above but not significant. Paid $25 for 3 days of wi-fi and unlimited long distance calls - worth it. Long skinny swimming pool in courtyard was very nice but the place was not fully occupied when we were there in April. With all units occupied pool might be overcrowded. Hot tub in pool was great after long day. Service and staff were vey responsive. We went to the "Beach Club" once for a buffet and drinks. Did not see point of returning - you could not use the beach there. Nice lounge chairs if you're into lounging. Also did not get to use the "Al Cielo" beach club that they advertise as a perk. We were looking forward to it but on calling for a reservation (I guess they share it with other hotels) we were told it was booked for the next 6 days. This was the only real disappointment of our stay at Maya Villa.

Room Tip: 412 was a good room but not super-private.

We were there in March school break from Canada, with 11 and 14 year old boy and girl. Great, central, comfortable, in-town location with lots of options for entertainment. Nice to end up there at the end of busy days! Really helpful Concierge (Manuel M. thank you!! You are the best!!) who helped us choose wonderful day excursions such as private tour to the Mayan ruins at Coba and for a zip-line and snorkel adventure. Firendly advice, access to board games, movies and books for the condo. We had a penthouse suite, our children loved the hot tub and big tiki hut over couches on rooftop patio. Plenty of room to spread out, kitchen was very well-equipped, and we walked to the Mega and the Walmart for grocery supplies, helping control our eat-out costs. Condo is comfortable, once we set up wireless it worked well. It is cleaned each day, kids actually loved the gecko pool though it was not big, it had a waterfall and also a hot tub. Only downside was they had trouble balancing chemicals and it was shut for about 24 hours. Security was good, though on Sundays a little slack, otherwise someone was always there. One block to Indigo Beach Club, ok breakfast included each day, lots of loungers (always a spot for us even at March break), walk up the beach to swimming but watching fisherman and parasailers also was entertaining in front of club. Gelato on 5th avenue right around the corner from the Villa, and lots of people-watching and stores to explore. This was a fantastic vacation that offered great variety and some safe independence if your are looking for something other than the isolated all-inclusive...Villa Maya is a quiet retreat in the middle of lots to see and do. Would recommend it to any family, though folks with young babies might find the higher floors a bit of a menace between ever-present stairs and balconies! Home away from home, thank you Villa Maya for a unique family landing spot in Playa!
