Friend recommend and so glad this was the most amazing trip! We had the best tour guide - Gonzo! Best money spent. There are Cenotes every where but this is so different. 3 Hour tour plus lunch!

We chose this tour because it sounded interesting but it was supposed to rain that day (it had rained all day the day we booked this) but it didn't. It would be a good rainy day choice. Our tour had transportation included and it was 20 minutes late, apparently he had to ask for directions, he also got lost on the way back! The tour itself for well run, and our guide was very helpful. There were just 6 of us on the tour so that was great, we always felt like we were the only ones down there. The walking through the cave was uneven but we never felt rushed and helped each other out. The rocks were sometimes uncomfortable with the thin water shoes. Some of the cave features were spectacular. I enjoyed the swimming part of the tour, and felt there could have been more of that. I also liked when we turned off our lights and floated in complete darkness, it was freaky! At the end of the tour we all had a shot of a Mayan liquer, it was okay if you like black licorice. Then we looked at the pictures (a photo guy is with you, you can't bring cameras with). We were planning on buying the photo cd, $69, and it is high priced but single prints were $25. So since we were planning on buying the cd at the start we posed well for pics. There is another package for around $90 that included the cd, 2 tee shirts, and a bottle of the mayan liquor. AFter that we got back into our normal clothes. It was a little gross using the shoes and wet suit but I didn't break out into a terible rash. They do provided a locker for you to use, so that was nice. Lunch was provided and it was okay. I would have rather skipped it and went back to the resort. Lunch was really all carbohydrates, no meat provided. And since I'm diabetic, a lunch of all carbs isn't a great idea. The lime soup and the spinach tamales were the best part of the lunch. I wouldn't do the tour again (been there done that), however it was a neat experience. I liked that it didn't last all day, and if it had been raining it would have been a good way to beat the rain. If you have questions please feel free to message me!

This is a must see, one of the best attractions in Yucatan. Easy to reach via the 'collectivos' from Playa del Carmen. You cannot bring your own camera, a photographer of the organisation will go along, and you will pose in a number of locations. Admission is 69 USD pp, and the photo's are another 60 USD (per group), so quite pricey but worth it!

Our family did this as a cruise excursion from the Disney Fantasy when they docked in Cozumel. Our girls are 11 and 14 and absolutely LOVED this experience. They supply all that you need, the water shoes, helmets, wet suits, life jackets, lockers, and hard hat with light. All of it feels clean. The changing areas and restrooms are clean. We started in Cozumel and the excursion company met us the moment we stepped foot off the ship and escorted us the whole way. We took a ferry from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen. Then they broke us up into groups of 10. From Playa Del Carmen, they supplied transport to the Rio Secreto. The road to Rio Secreto is long and BUMPY. A ride in itself. But once there, you see that this is a top-notch, newer attraction. (I asked and it is only about 4 years old.) The facilities seem newer, but you do not lose the charm of this ancient land. Our guide was Gonzo and met us when the taxi dropped us off and stayed with us until the end. He was excellent with kids. We had a 5 year old in our group and he took special attention to keep an eye on her.

Our girls LOVED floating through the underground river. They were never scared. The guide ensures that the group of 10 rotates, so that everyone gets a chance in front and a chance to bring up the rear. A photographer is with you the whole way and takes GREAT pictures. The CD purchase is worth it. We had a lunch served after the walk and we were surprised at all that they had. It was wonderful and very filling.

The taxi took us back to Playa Del Carmen where we met our excursion guide. We were given 1 hour to walk around town. The town seems nice and quaint, but we went straight to the beach and had about 45 min. to swim in the BEAUTIFUL ocean before we had to board the water ferry back to Cozumel and the ship.

We highly recommend this! The off road ride is quite bumpy and you do have to crouch and duck through some of the walk. You have a life jacket to float through the very SLOW moving part that you cannot touch bottom on. The property is beautiful and we cannot say enough about the staff! A very different Mexican experience and it's in the SHADE the most of the time.
