Owner description: Isla Mujeres Museum Capitan Dulche. This Museum is dedicated in loving memory of Captain Ernesto Dulche Escalante, founder or the 5th Naval Region (Isla Mujeres). Captain Dulche´s Maritime Museum treasures a big part of Isla Mujeres history, this is documented in a great photo collection of over 150 that have never been seen before. The Museum also contains an excellent collection of anchors, buoys, chains and lanterns, maritime tools and two projection rooms, showing one video of the famous mexican diver Ramon Bravo and the even more famous Jacques Cousteau. It also has the largest collection of model ships and metates in the whole mexican caribbean.

The new pool and expansion is beautiful, but I didn't like the fact that there were no lounging chairs around the pool, only regular plastic chairs. I could not stay at the pool all day sitting in plastic chairs. The cocktails were just okay, my sister in law had a margarita and it was the worse on the island. I had a gin and tonic, can't go too wrong there, but the prices were much higher than most.

Our party of six stopped for drinks under the huge palapa with a ship in the middle. very cool and there are swings at the bar to chlll out upon.
We were greeted warmly and enjoyed our drinks, pool, views and Achilles the perro.
The museum was closed, but we ventured out on the dock to view some sculptures. The place has gone under major renovations since our last visit and all are awesome. The maragarita could use some work though...i did not enjoy it. I should have had a beer.

We were staying near here so stopped in to check it out. Came back for a cold drink and sat on the swings at the bar,. Old ship the Caprice in the middle of the palapa. Pool with private cabanas looked nice. Lovely grounds, clean beach. The museum was closed - it is an open mezzanine area and looked interesting - I was a little disappointed in that.
Would recommend if on the south end of the island (much quieter more relaxing part of Isla Mujeres.)

A new pool a few other new upgrades around the property. We walked and had our drinks at the end of dock. One of our favourite stops!
