“Quiet and Relaxing”
Reviewed 11 April 2012

We travel at least once a year, and this place was nice...We had 1100 block and were on third floor. The buffet was quite nice, found something at ervery meal, staff was very polite and did a great job. But we do tip a dollar or two at most meals and try to spread the money around they all deserve a little. I do wish they would only book alacarts daily instead of letting you book them all at once for the whole week. Did not matter food was great in buffet restaurant. The only issue being guest kept putting bagels in toaster and it got jammed everyday, kind of funny they would do it over and over,LOL. who needs toast everyday anyway, I survived quite well without it.
Reyna was our maid and she was awesome, left a dollar a day and some chocolate or candy...At the end lelt a gift bag of assorted items and five dollars. The pool entertainment and evening entertainment were a little slow, but the music was good in disco at night. All day in sun to tired to play late at night.

We took Chechenitza tour, my oh my 17 hour day. way to long for me, also a little dissapointing as Lara from Nolitours was not honest enough to tell us about the real length of tour, honesty is always appreciated, also the flea market atmosphere and begging children all inside and around this wonder of the world was sad. I wanted to experience the atmosphere, did not happen,,,but the jeep tour around Cozumel was awesome,,best day there,, the ruins are not so spendid but you get to experience them in peace and you feel in awe of this place.

All in all it was good, avoid the office beyond check in as they will suck you in to take a tour for cheep day trips, only 10.00 difference than booking with Nolitours, Sunwing, etc...but you won't lose three hours of your day and find out you can upgrade to Royal Club for $55.00 daily or buy timeshare at a low minium cost of $37,000.00 Minimum. LOL not kidding.

Room Tip: Just smile and ask.. be nice and tip a little, found everywhere quiet and peaceful

I read a Trip Advisor comment about emailing the assistant general manager of the resort prior to arrival. I did that and she responded within the hour. We asked for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. She also made our reservations at the specialty restaurants for us. (Los Oliveros has a great steak.) When we arrived at the resort, Yamile Cruz (assistant gen. manager) met us at the reception desk. We were taken to the Royal Club for our champagne welcome and given a place to change our clothes.(we did not stay at the Royal Club) Our room was ready by 1:30. The 2nd day, a bottle of champagne was sent to our room. The service was GOOD at the restaurants and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back to this resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Make your dinner reservation requests before you arrive. Los...

Resort is located on the south end of the island, where it is quite but right in the diving action. Many times we where at our dive location before we had all our gear on. First impression as we arrived was very good, our room was very clean and looked very good. Stocked fridge. Food was good. The staff were friendly and very helpful, house keeping had our room cleaned by the time we had finished breakfast. Nice beach, pools and things to do there. But by far the dive staff was the best, they would ask when we would dive, and our gear would be on the boat. They would also remove it from the boat and clean our equipment and store it for the next dive (Javaier is the man.Great job)
My wife and I enjoyed it.

The highlight of my entire year is the week I spend with my family at the OGC! We have went there for Spring Break for the last five years and will continue to do so until our son graduates (and beyond, I'm sure). Great for active teenagers - lots of water polo, volleyball and a terrific entertainment staff that go out of their way to create an experience for everyone. I always schedule a SPA day for myself and let the guys do their thing with no worry about their safety & security.

This is fara warning to all of you who are considering this resort to spend your money and precious vacation time.
besides the staff there is nothing else that can be pointed out as nice and positive.
3 weeks since we are back my 19 month daughter is still fighting the bacterial infection that she caught there. not to mention that my wife and my friendas son had also bee vomiting from an infevction as well from that same pool the last 3 days we were there. both with high fever.
that pool did not get a single drop of chlorin from the time we arrived there on saturday until the day we were to go back home. they only put it there once a week so you go figure what goes on inthere.
by tuesday it was so cloudy that you coiudnt see the bottom of it.( i used to be a lifeguard and trust me there is a diference). and believe me when ocean water gets all teh seaweed up and gets dirty you have to dip your self somewhere and you know that pool will be the first thing you go to.
Rooms smelled like stail wine cellars for some reason and the worst were the ones on the ground level.
We were moved numerous times from our spot on the beach because that same spot is aparently where all the weddings happen.
if you still decide to go dont take any of the tours. there are no tequila factories, no good spots for snorkling. you are better off renting a buggy on your own and going about the island.
just so you get a pisture, my friend who also went with us has a time share with Oxidental and he has been to a few of their resorts and he was deeply disapointed with it as well. Food and everything.

Room Tip: just dont go there
