“Home away from home!!”

Marla and I have been staying at Casa Colonial since they opened in 2000 and we feel like Villa #1 is our "home away from home"! Bob and Sarah are hands on owners who are "always" upgrading and updating the amenities as well as each and every villa. We love it on the island and would "never" stay any place else on Cozumel. Always something new in the courtyard, too! This year there is "Skippy II" the "painted turtle" and his own private turtle pond!! See attached photo's!

“THIS PLACE ROCKS!! Best Value I have ever found on vacation!!”
Reviewed 12 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We had 4 families with kids staying together for a week and took up the entire place over Thanksgiving 2013. This was hands down the best Thanksgiving I have ever had. The accommodations were superb, the location was even better and the weather fabulous. We loved not be on "the Strip" actually. It made it feel more like home and not like we were tourist. If you are on "the Strip", you get constantly bombarded with shop owners trying to sell you stuff, so this location was more relaxed. We even got to walk to the grocery, which was a block away, every day to get groceries. We actually ate dinner at the location on several nights. The recommendations they had for dinner out were spot on as well. They have a band of turtles on the property that the kids loved. The turtles were like your pet at home because they would come right up to you for you to feed them bananas. My youngest thought that was the coolest part of the trip actually. They all named them. We were able to walk to everything usually and if not, there is a small business across the street that washes cabs on the island and you can go there at any time of the day and night and they are there and will get one of their friends who are cab drivers there within 2 minutes. We even got them to get us a cab at 5 AM one day. Bob and Sarah know how to cater to folks from the US but with a Mexican flair to it. The trip was so great, I even hate to mention anything that could be considered a drawback because it really wasn't, but I do not want to sound like a paid spokesperson or anything. So the only two things I can even remotely mention that were drawbacks was that the Wi-Fi signal was very weak in the condos, so we had to go to the computer room to get a signal to check emails on our phones. The other thing is that you have to put the toilet paper in the trash because Cozumel sewers are not up to US standards I suppose. But anyways, none of that was a big deal.

“better than I expected”
Reviewed 22 May 2011 for a stay in April 2011

First I'd like to say, Sarah is a lovely host. She was so helpful and attentive. I read about Casa Colonial on this site. It was everything and more, The property is lovely and well maintained. We were a group of 17 ladies and consumed all of Casa! The island of Cozumel is simply awesome! we mostly walked into town ( about 9 blocks) 15 min walk. You do need a taxi to beach areas. usually a 5.00 ride. We visited the square on Sunday and watched the locals dance in the evening. It was excellent! Cozumel is so friendly and safe! no problems walking anywhere. Foods is very affordable and delicious! Some of the places we visited where; Paradise Beach, noname beach bar, we visited pleasure island tour, we took ferry to playa del carmen and taxied to Akumal to beach it and swim with the turtles...Incredible. We also hired by Sarah to taxi us around the island> Again AWESOME! tequila tour stop, cocun uts, reggae bar....oh boy what fun!!!! Cant wait to come back!!!! THanks Sarah!!!!!
