My boyfriend and I booked our first all inclusive through expedia and stayed 4 nights at the Oasis Palm (upgraded to The Grand side). We wish we could have stayed longer we had an amazing time. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The staff was unbelievably gracious and helpful always. (I have heard that they are more so if you speak spanish which fortunately my boyfriend does). Because we stayed in THe Grand we had access to 4 different buffet restaurants. 3 at one and 1 at the attached hotel. Also 3 al la carte. I can't say a bad thing about any of these places. The food was delicious everywhere. THey even have a small snack bar which nachos, burgers etc. The two large pools with swim up bar at one was very nice. The beach front was gorgeous, not very packed at both beach and pool.
Our room was small bu clean, the washroom was spacious though. It seemed a little humid in our room and our view wasn't very nice. We tried to switch but front desk said there was no ocean view rooms left unfortunately. Tip: Call hotel well before arrving to ensure you receive a good view! This is the only complaint we had but really not big deal, we weren't in the room much anyways.
There is a small night club attached to hotel. A mixed crowd, all different ages. Played good music with a dj, dance floor. It was fun!
There aren't any vending machines or a store that sells snacks on the hotel grounds. We had to ask an emplyee to get us some late at night in the employee lunch room. You can request snacks for your room at front desk which we didn't know but they dont deliver til the morning.
There is a small convienient store called OXXO about a 15 minute walk away as well to stock up on for the room. (water bottles etc)
We used cabs and the transit system to get around. Not far front downtown Cancun, also we rode the bus up to the flea market. Very cheap and easy way to get around.
Overall this hotel was great although we don't have comparisons being it was our first all inclusive. But we do travel a lot and can say we have knowledge of great service and hospitality and be would definitely return here and next time stay longer!

Room tip: We stayed in room 1612. Don't recommend it! Not a nice view

With two pools and a lovely beach this resort caters to both families and couples. The gradual entry pool was great for small children but big enough for serious swimmers. The beach had plenty of chairs and shade and also had queen sized platform beds to lounge on. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. I will return on my next trip to Cancun.

We had a really decent 6-day sat at this hotel August 2012. The variety of restaurants was good and the evening dinners at the 'reservation' restaurants were very nice. Our room was clean, well appointed and maintained. The a/c worked like a charm. The staff was attentive all around and there was virtually no up-selling efforts. What keeps me from giving the place an excellent rating is the limited room-service menu (included in our package), combined with the fact that they were out one of the items one time we called and did not answer altogether another time. We found truth in some of the other comments - lobby and hallways not air-conditioned, hallways could be noisy (but did not affect us) and elevators are small, but they did the job. The pools were nice and the beach small but again, that did not phase us. Would consider returning if we go back to Cancun.

My wife and I visited Cancun / Grand Oasis Palm Aug 3-8th which we booked an all inclusive at the last minute on Cheapcarribean.com. I was a little skeptical on the Oasis Palm due to some of hte mixed reviews, however our stay was perfect ! The day after booking the trip Hurricane Ernesto shows up on the map but too late to back out now, trip is paid for so we went for it. Turns out the hurricane cooperated and we had the best vacation ever. For the Hotel: Food was amazing, service was excellent ( ask for Israel and Jorge at Aires del Norte). These 2 guys know how to take care of guests! I recommend paying a little more to get in the Ocean View rooms as you have access to a couple private restaurants and bars not open to the rest of the hotel patrons. This was our first trip to Cancun and the water / sand at this end of the hotel zone was not as beautiful as the other end close to the Hard Rock. While in the water the sand has a type of grass you walk on that just doesnt feel as good as walking on ocean sand. No major complaint but worth noting. Be sure to visit Chichen Itza or one of the Mayan tourist attractions, it was an amazing day and worth the $109 per person. We will definitely be going back to Cancun !

Room tip: Pay a little extra to get in the Ocean view rooms to get access to a private pool, nice bar and sushi bar. worth the extra $60 per person.

Great option for the price, well located, good restaurants, good food, good drinks. Kids love it. Great circus show

You can use both hotels if you stay in the grand oasis. Very good family option and at good price
