Check in went smooth, we asked for a higher floor to get a better view. Recieved 7th floor with a great view. Time share guy didn't bother us after initial contact (when we first arrived). Just told him we wanted to get to our room.
Signed up for the Marco Polo restaurant at 8am, not much trouble getting in and food was great. Buffet food was average fair, what you would expect.
Pool was great but a little rough on the feet if you were playing hard. Bar area had fun nights, but sometimes repeated itself. Shows were good, Michael Jackson- better than most.
Service was very good and entertainment crew was fun. Beach was great with fairly large waves.
Good value for the money

Check in was fairly fast. Our guest representative was friendly but forgetful. We told him we were celebrating our anniversary and he offered to make reservations at Marco Polo for our special night which we gladly accepted. He sent champagne to our room two nights before our anniversary which we saved. He forgot to make our reservation at Marco Polo and we found a great place in town. Fred's is a wonderful dining experience.

Also during check in we were asked if we wanted to meet for about 1 hour to 'tour the resort amenities.' In return, we would be given 2 t-shirts, 2 massages, a cap, and a bag. We didn't realize it would be the timeshare spill. We politely sat through the 2 hours of information, declined the $25,000 "membership" only to be turned over to another salesperson offering the same thing for $11,400.00. When we declined that offer too we were again turned over to a third salesperson and that's when my husband lost his cool. Save your vacation and decline any resort amenity tours, memberships, or anything that comes with something "free." This left us very aggravated and we never received our "free" gifts.

The resort grounds are quite lovely and well kept. The food was average. Lots of variety but not much day-to-day variation. The meat was either dry or chewy. We did enjoy the fish and fruits. The juices were watered down. I wish they had more dining options other than cafeteria-style dining. We managed to eat at Marco Polo one night during French night and we were not impressed at all. The portions are tiny and our filet mignon was tough. If you want to dine there get in line at Marco Polo before 8 a.m. The reservations go quickly.

The beach was beautiful but the locals constantly peddling their merchandise got annoying. We found ourselves politely telling them 'no thank you' about every 10 minutes. It's like this everywhere you go in Cancun.

Our room (8307) was directly across from the elevators and we were not offered an upgrade. Our view was of the lagoon which was obstructed by a red clay roof directly in front of us. The room itself was nice except for the drink that had been splattered on the wall and lamp shade. We had an adjoining room and could hear everything that was said in there and in the hall. We tried to take a nap during the day but that didn't work either. It sounded like they were moving furniture constantly above us. The halls magnify everything and you will not get any sleep! There was always plenty of hot water and the cleaning staff was very prompt.

The staff asked us only twice in the first 5 days if we wanted something from the bar. Most of the staff was friendly but their smiles looked forced and they were always walking with their heads down. The lines at the bars were long. I did not think the drinks tasted watered down.

The bus stops right at the resort curb. For $1.00 you can go into town and shop, eat, party and another $1.00 to get back to the resort. If you want a silly night go to Carlos' n Charlie's Restaurant. We had so much fun there!

If you want a lounge chair by the pool or on the beach you better get up early, grab a towel, and 'claim' your spot!

All in all we had a great time but our resort experience was less than appealing here and we will not return.

Room Tip: Good luck! We were told the owners get the ocean view and everybody else gets the lagoon view. I thi...

Food was great and there was wide variety. It was nice to have great food with a relaxed dress code. Service was more than expected. Whether eating or drinking the staff was right there making sure you had whatever you wanted. Vermon quickly became our preferred waiter. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Beach was wonderful, drinks were not watered down. All around great resort. Only issue was with the free WiFi in the lobby...service was marginal. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Room away from elevators might eliminate some noise

Just returned from a wonderful 5 day stay at this hotel with 8 of my girlfriends. We were there too celebrate my 40th birthday and the staff was exceptional. Carlos was the best. The rooms are awesome, all of our rooms were well kept and clean. We have absolutely no complaints. The food was oh so good. I would definetly recommend this hotel.
