“Grand Moon Presidential Suites”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2012

Our family just visited the Grand Moon in the first week of June 2012. We had previously stayed at the Sunrise side, but this was the first in the Grand side. It was beautiful. Sleek, modern, and spacious are the words. Our Presidential had a master suite, dining room, living room, wet bar, and kids room. Each bedroom with jacuzzis of course. The master bath and dressing area was amazing.

There were less restaurant choices than Nizuc and Sunrise lobbies, but Caribeno offered all we wanted. Our kids are 8 to 16 years old and we didn't miss kiddie pools or need the more "party" pools of Sunrise. The Grand does not have kid care, but the entertainment staff (Alejandro, Alfredo and Mirem) more than made up the memories for our kids. We made woven bracelets, played ping pong, played on the surf board in the Olympic pool, observed crocodiles, laughed a lot. Unforgettable memory is Alfredo doing his amazing "flag pole" pose poolside. He's trying out for Cirque du Soleil...hahahhaa.

It rained on the first few days of our visit, but the XBOX kept the kids entertained. Jose Felipe, Benjamin, and Paulina are Diamond concierges that we had to assist us. It was also fun to run into another old friend (from Le Blanc Spa & Resort) that now worked at Nizuc side : Tatiana ! Wish we could've seen her more, but we stayed on the Grand side mostly.

The hypnosis show was really funny and I wish I would've had the courage to volunteer. I hoped to volunteer the following week at the next resort, but he didn't perform at Aventura Spa/Cove.

Best take home memories are the bracelets/anklets the kids and I wove and wear to remind us of sweet times.

Room Tip: There are rooms / presidentials on the 1st level with swim out patio. It is shallow wading pool but...

My husband and I vacationed at Adventura Palace last year after becoming Palace members. It was the most relaxing, romantic vacation we've ever had! This year, we decided to take our daughter and her three cousins, all of whom are 16, to Moon Palace. The girls reported to their parents the fantastic time they had and the things that made an impression on them.

First, they were absolutely delighted to have 24 hour room service and took every opportunity to induldge themselves in this service. Secondly, the pool activities were fun and engaging. Thirdly, they loved the food and were bragging about how the staff, even at the buffet, took their plates to the table. Most importantly, they enjoyed meeting so many young people and have made many new friends. They loved the hypnosis show. Nizuc had the best shows but Sunrise was where the teens to young adults hung out.

For my husband and I it was wonderful watching the girls have so much fun. We also enjoyed the spa and will definitely play golf at the Moon Palace on our next trip. The course is beautiful! I must say, the Palace resorts must have exceptional training and hiring of very good people. With each "thank you" we gave the prompt answer was "my pleasure" Mrs.___________. They took the time and effort to remember names!

The food at the resort was fantastic! La Trattoria was better than ANY 5-star restaurant that I've ever visited. The food was wonderful both in presentation and taste. If you like steak, you must have the tenderloin. It was cooked perfectly and was very tender on each of the two times we went. My husband had the seafood which was also superb. Miguel then another Miguel were our waiters and both had perfect dinner ettiquete. Bamboo was equally wonderful and had a variety of food from which to choose. Manuel was our waiter at the Bamboo and was wonderful at explaining to us and the girls the entrees on the menu. He had a great personality too, very professional. It was such a pleasure to expose the four girls to restaurants of that quality.

One thing we wished we wouldn't have done is the Isla Mujeras trip. We thought we would get to use our resort credits to go and the snorkeling would be part of the cost, which wasn't the case. We explored the island on a rented golf cart ($45 for 3-5 hours) and shopped. It was OK but not what we expected. The staff on the ferry were extremely entertaining and got all passengers involved. I applaud their ability to keep everyone engaged on the ride back.

We are planning on having my oldest daughter's wedding at one of the Palace resorts. I'm not sure which one we will choose, but I know it will be a perfect celebration in every way possible.

Special thanks to: Octovia (guest services), Filiberto (bell man who rememberd our names from day one!), Miguel x 2 (waiters at Latrattoria), Manuel (manager/waiter Bamboo), Pepe (Palace membership), Javier (pianist), Angel (bellman with the fast cart ;)
Thank you Palace Resorts for another wonderful vacation!

Nothing bad to say, we loved everything about the Moon Palace, we stayed in the Nizuc section. With two young daughters (8 & 6), we were always on the go. They had a blast, loved the shows, sports, events etc.

Thank you Palace Resorts for a wonder 9 days.

Highy recommend using the beach at the Beach Palace, beautiful.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Coral Section and really liked it.

Overall it was a good experience. My friend got married there and the wedding itself was beautiful. The hotel is large, its typically used for conventions. There are three seperate buildings, Sunrise (fun during the day); Nizuc (typical hotel lobby) and Grand (a little more upscale than the other two and more trendy chic), but quiet. I did not enjoy the food. The guests and staff were extremely nice. Its about 20-25 minutes from the hotel zone. If you are looking to be in the middle of it all, I would recommend the Beach Palace or a hotel on Kukulcan. The pool areas are also nice, but the beach isn't very pretty at all. If you are a beach person, I would say big NO. There are def. some pros and cons, depends on your taste. Would I stay there again? Not sure.

Room Tip: There are no elevators, its a garden style hotel (three floors). I am picky about hotel rooms. Altho...

My husband and I travelled here with his company. The room was awkward. The pool area was nice and large and had a fun pool bar. The food was ok and there were long waits for meals. The place was massive and it semed as though it was divided into two distinct areas - American and Mexican. I wouldn't return.
