We have traveled to several all inclusive in the Caribbean. The last before this trip being a Riu Palace. We have found that you get what you paid for with all inclusives. We picked the Royal Solaris because we wanted a nice beach and good time for young kids. We also didn't want to spend a lot of money because we were traveling with young kids. We had low expectations for the Royal Solaris based on the reviews. We were pleasantly surprised! We throughly enjoyed our stay and the kids had a blast.

The food was as good as some places we have stayed but I think the Royal Solaris does a great job of creating lots of choices on a budget. I myself am a picky eater and always found things to eat that I enjoyed. My husband says he doesn't need to eat for 8 days because he ate so much the 8 days we were there. My kids loved the pizza station. Abigail is such a sweet heart and always greeted my children by name. (Penelope says "hi," Abigail) The restaurants were both very nice. We liked not having to make reservations especially with the kids. We were able to go whenever we were ready which made things less stressful for mommy. :) The staff always very attentive and friendly.

The room was nice, better than I expected. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We had a lagoon view which was pretty. I'm sure the ocean view was even better but we are not people to spend a lot of time in the room on vacation. I do wish we had a room with a balcony only because my two year old did nap in the room. It would have been nice to sit outside while she napped.

They do try to get you to buy a timeshare as soon as you arrive. We had a very early flight and two crabby kids so we agreed to the presentation before realizing what we had done. Our salesman lost me in the first 5 minutes when he acted annoyed with our children. They are 2 and 3 and act like 2 and 3 year olds. I wanted to walk out but my husband felt we should stay since we said we would. Once they knew we were not buying, they left us alone. I would not do the presentation again.

The pools were very nice. My kids loved the slides at the "animal pool" in the kids club. The beach is beautiful. There was a little seaweed but not much. The giant hot tub overlooks the ocean and is so relaxing.

For the price, I would go back to this resort and I have already recommended it to family and friends.

Thank you Royal Solaris for giving us some much needed R&R and quality time with our kids. We will cheers the memories!

This hotel is pretty much what we expected from a moderately price all-inclusive resort. Great views from the ocean view side, plenty of drinks to try without any wait, great service, and decent food. The food at the buffets is decent, the sushi was very good, pizza was ok. The highlight of the hotel for us was Marco Polo restaurant. The food was great, and was only surpassed by the service from Oli. I cannot remember a time that we had as good of service at any restaurant before as we did the 4 nights that Oli was our waiter. The lobby bar was a pleasant surprise in the evenings, as there were always a lot of people to mingle with. We attended the Mexican Night show, which was decent, and worth the time.
