Royal Solaris is a Superb stay!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Apr 2012
AMAZING, Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Great entertainment at night, WONDERFUL food, a place for all ages. We were here on our honeymoon and the staff even upgraded our room and decorated it. Probably go through the Mayan trips through the hotel service because that is easier and they offer really great, comfortable tours, though perhaps a bit more expensive. Wonderful beach and pool area, safe and comfortable. Small enough to be friendly but big enough to stay entertained.
Date of stay: February 2012
Room Tip: Definetly spend to get the ocean side-MUCH better view and room quality

We've been 9 times after this last stay. In the past I have praised this place. Well it has changed hands within the family & they have decided to make a few changes. First & largest is that what they call the Caribe side( the older side) they have changed it to a separate hotel. Use to be you would just tell them which side you wanted. The tower or the Caribe side. Caribe is quieter side ,we always stayed there. Now you can not "cross over" to the side. It also costs more to stay on that side. They said we should check with our Apple Rep. I visited them 4 times. They said an email was sent saying they had split.& we could pay more and stay there or go somewhere else. Apple was just as bad ,using them 20 years they have lost some clients over this. We ended paying to front desk for the 3 of us to be over with our friends. The manager just kept saying he couldn't do anything. We did tour 5 other properties to see where we might stay next year. NEVER again with Royal Solaris unless something changes.

I went to the Royal Solaris during spring break with my two friends from college. We got there and were greeted with the most wonderful staff we could ask for. They were willing to assist us in any way possible, and they were amazing throughout our whole week there. The room was average for a hotel, but it didn't matter because we didn't spend much time there anyway. The pool was beautiful, and we never had a problem finding lounge chairs to lay out. The swim up bar was amazing and the drinks never disappointed us. The bartenders, especially Abraham, were amazing and they love nothing more than to serve you drinks!! The people there were so nice as well, and the atmosphere was awesome with music playing and people having fun. There were a lot of college students there, but there were also older adults and families that looked like they were having just as much fun. The meals were average, but Marco Polo was an amazing restaurant at the hotel. They served wonderful meals that would have costed a lot of money if it wasn't a part of the all-inclusive package. The lobby bar is the place to go at night. There is live entertainment and karaoke on some nights. It's mostly just a bunch of people drinking and having a good time. The entertainment staff sells bracelets to get into the clubs, and they also provide you with a ride to the club, but you need to find your own way back. It's not that difficult, just take the bus back for $1, and it's totally safe! The clubs were AMAZING!! I would recommend The City and Daddy-O. The wristbands are around $50, but you get instant access into the club, VIP table, and all you can drink while you're there. Overall, we had the time of our lives, and we will be back next year for another rowdy spring break!!

This was my girlfriend and my first all-inclusive stay and we were very impressed with the service provided by the bar, restaurantes and hotel services.

Room: We received a room upgrade when we arrived, because our room we booked was not available, which was a great treat that we valued. The room nice, clean and very affordable.

Staff: Sebastian, our concierge, was extremely helpful and could answer any questions we had about the hotel and surrounding area. Bartenders, servers, front desk, bell hops, ect were all great and we had zero problems with their punctuality, requests and service during our stay.

Food: Food was average, which is typical considering the amount of individuals they have to cater to.

Overal experience: Positive

We spent a week at the Royal Solaris mid March. It is a very nice hotel(nothing super fancy about it), The food was very good, it was clean and the people were very friendly. The beach was great, and plenty of seating room around the pool area. We spent most of our time on the beach, however. The beach was probably less crowded because the hotels are more spread out in the southern part of the hotel zone where we were. The nightly entertainment was very good as well - we were impressed. Only a small talk about time shares at the check in time while we were having a tour of the hotel, but nothing too bad. Would definately go back again!
