I'm a regular visitor to Cancun, just haven't been to Temptation before. I'm writing on the plane as we leave... Read the reviews about Temptation before you book. They are all fairly accurate. Entertainment: We had a great time here! Yes, it's top optional but the vibe is very chill and people are kind. Restaurants: We only tried two of the restaurants and really should have tried all of them as the food was exceptional. The breakfast buffet was typical resort food but the restaurants you dined in we're awesome. Definitely try Amore! Staff: Every single staff person was lovely and kind. From bartenders to the guys maintaining the landscaping. Fitness Center: the best one I've seen at a resort. Tons of equipment choices in one area. Spa: Spotless and professional.I Alma did a great job on my birthday massage. They offer levels of couples massage you can do here too (wink wink).

Okay things to improve... Rooms: Be aware of the room they give you and the location. We had to move once which they were very helpful with. Some rooms are close to the entertainment and some are basically on the busy road in front. I've never heard so many doors open and close at all hours. Some of that too be expected but if you're into quiet, do your homework. Checking in, staff was courteous but it would be nice to learn more about the restaurants and theme nights as we first arrive. We had to learn from guests and the television in our room. The sexy pool is the place to be mid-day. People watching and fun! There isn't much of a beach to speak of. That was the main thing I missed. But there is a small one and some beach volleyball. Big plus is being in walking distance of the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Take a day and go over and explore. Adults-only resorts are really the way to go!

Okay, here are my thoughts on the New Temptation:

Overall:
- It is fancier and trendier, but overall the same resort.
- The crowd seemed much milder than we have seen there for spring break, and I think a lot of that is the price point. The younger wild people can’t really afford it anymore.
- I’d say the median age was 30-40.
- The food is pretty much exactly the same.
- The new wrist bands are bracelets like they have at Desires. Super comfy and really nice.
- There are 3 kinds of bands – black for members, blue for people staying in the “tower”, and white for non-members and non-tower guests. The blue bands aren’t members but get most of the member benefits.
- Generally speaking, it is really only worth going using member prices which is why we renewed our membership.

Good:
- There is a coffee shop in the lobby. I like that. They have snacks and sandwiches and desserts.
- There is a new bar in the lobby…plenty of places to drink.
- There’s finally a hot tub. It gets a little crowded but it’s nice toward the end of the day.
- The new gym is AWESOME.
- You only need reservations for the SHE restaurant and the hibachi table in Sutra. It’s nice to have so many dinner options without being stuck with a time frame you have to hit.
- There is a sit-down breakfast place now, which is nice.
- The pool is more than twice as big. This is nice because it is huge and has plenty of seating but is bad because it is deeper and colder.
- The members deck is the same and has decent reclining seats.
- The sports bar expanded into the old dance club. It is very nice in there now!
- the new rooms are nice enough, but it is mostly just wallpaper.

Bad:
- The buffet is literally ½ the size. Kind of a wash because of the sit-down place, but still….
- When we were there, the pool butlers were saving a dozen of the best pool chairs “for request” for brand new members and such. They expected a cash tip to give up a chair but we just took the chairs we wanted.
- The fancy in-pool chairs are only any good if you are drunk and the sun is out.
- The chairs around the pool don’t recline or sit up so your butt can fall asleep.
- They shaved the beach area and it is about half as wide now, seriously. They used all the sand to create a shallow area for the water sports.
- They rented out the beach and cabana over by the quiet pool for giving briefings for people about to go in the booze cruise. This includes families and such so every morning there are whole families with kids and such over by the quiet pool.
- the tvs are nicer and have a lot of channels but you have to pay for adults channels now instead of having them 24 hours a day for free.
- This one is mixed: the evening themes are fun, but the shows are as bad as ever. The downside is that the dance club is gone and everything happens on the new patio area. It is nice but windy in the evenings and there is almost no coverage from the weather. The shows have never been really great, we mostly go for the themes in the evenings instead of the shows.

We've just completed our second trip and have been members since before the renovations. The new décor is beautiful and modern, plenty of staff for anything you need. High five to all the entertainment staff Lollipop, Mini Cooper, Zack, Shelby and the great dj Carlo's(aka Charlie). We also had the pleasure of our amazing butler for the week JD. He went over and beyond to please us. Thank you JD! The pool is now very large to accommodate the full occupancies and food was excellent. We look forward to our next trip back.

Excellent in most ways. Very disappointing that the pool heater is not put on every morning. Very disappointing that they do not allow men in any of the best 5 restaurants with dress shorts on but will allow men to wear T shirts, jeans, flip flops, and baseball caps in the same restaurants. Very disappointing that they have changed the closing time of the Quiet Bar to 6pm from 11pm. Very disappointing that the Sky Bar closing is at 6pm.

So this is our second visit to temptation, once before the refurb and now that it’s in full swing. The hotel looks amazing with a great new Devore throughout - it might be dated in 10 year but for now it works. The staff are on point and always available to help when asked. This is not a spa however so they are not preempting your whims so don’t expect the world. The rooms are large and clean with very competitive beds, stocked mini bar, tv and rain showers. This is a topless optional not nude hotel so those of us from the EU will already be old hats at this. They do keep the risqué feel going with various drinking games and competitions - get involved! The theme night are what you make of them, most people dressed up and had a good time. There is a lifestyle element to the hotel but that’s more of a client thing than the hotel overtly making anything happen. The food is good but not award winning and caters even for people like me who don’t eat sugar or carbs. The sales pitch is actually something we volunteered for as we wanted to check out another hotel for the day and actually ended up buying in as the deal we got them down to was so good. This is a gaggle culture and if you can make the numbers work then do. If you are interested in referrals to visit then we would be happy to help. Well worth a visit if you want to party but don’t go if you want to be left alone for a week. This is a friendly place and people will start a chat with you.
