We stayed here as a trade on our timeshare. It was very nice. Rooms were clean, restaurants pretty good. Great location to beach. Beach itself was very good. Swimming, surfing, boarding, volleyball. Staff was generally helpful. Good for a family or couple.

Without a doubt Lagunamar is the most incredible beach resort property we have ever visited...and we have traveled to resorts the world over. It has it all! Breath taking beach directly out front for swimming and walking. The property has three huge pools...one of them being the largest in all of Cancun...1 1/2 the size of an Olymic size swimming pool and to add to its majestic beauty...an infinity pool. Incredible Wellness program with fantastic classes....stretching , water walking, beach walks, exercise, running...something for everyone. A Large spa with a delightful selection of offerings...yet I always head for the 80 minute deep tissue massage.Three excellent restaurants...pool side, sport bar, and fine dining....all with exceptional tasting food at very reasonable prices. (Dinners starting at around $12.00) We loved the food so much we rarely left the property to eat else where. Rooms are incredible...every room has a breathtaking view of the ocean...sunrises being spectacular! The rooms are huge. Over sized bathroom, full kitchen, laundry facilities, spacious living room, bedroom, and deck that seats four...and oh yes the Westin Heavenly Bed is heavenly! Equally important is the wonderful customer service. The people of Lagunamar go out of their way to make sure your Lagunamar Experience is the best ever...any special requests or needs are taken care of quickly......their kindness, smiles, graciousness are unbelievable!!!! Talk about "going the extra mile'" ...try 100 miles! I have never seen such wonderful customer service. I have been in the Restaurant/Hotel Industry for 35 years and NEVER have I seen a property that has it all! Located directly on the beach, exceptional rooms, beautiful grounds, fun pool side daily activities, delicious food served at three on property restaurants at a very reasonable price, beautiful spa and great selection of outdoor wellnness classes ...and outstanding, best ever customer service and gracious hospitality 😄 Once again....Lagunamar is by far the best beach resort you will ever have the good fortune to visit.

“Beyond Expectations”
This is our 10th trip to this gem! Each visit allows us to fall more in love with the excellent facilities & the delightful staff, whom we call “our family!” They literally go beyond expectations and can't do enough to make our stay the best possible, nothing is overlooked! We stayed for 18 days and had beautiful skies, oceans and beaches.
It began when we stepped out of our airport transportation until the time we left. Gabriel greeted us with a warm smile and firm handshake, followed by Omar’s bear hug and welcome – all very genuine! Our luggage arrived at the same time we arrived at our room. Everything in the room was in great shape; any requests were dealt with in a very prompt and courteous manner. Housekeeping has a special way of knowing when we are out of our room; it was always clean and pristine as when we arrived when we returned.
There are so many to acknowledge and appreciated. Our days began with sunrise with the warm smiles and service of Lomelli and Edwardo, who also make sure there was sunshine everyday! The pool bars/restaurants are well-staffed- Jorge, Philippe, Joaquin, Sol showed us a tropical treat (The Wilson) that was delicious. Servers Robert, Marko, Edgar and many others provide excellent service and a fun atmosphere. This trip was filled with many delights, including ocean-side massages by Carlos (The Master) and Geraldo (Strong Hands, Big Heart, Magic Fingers) that are always vacation highlights.
Management was very present at this resort, making sure the resort delivers its full experience to patrons. We were not expecting a few surprises for my husband’s birthday - totally a treat! As multiple Starwood owners, we attended the annual Homeowners Association meeting again and were pleased with management’s commitment to enhancing the resort’s operation and the guests’ experience. We are returning this autumn and look forward to renewing our friendships with fellow guests and the family/people of Lagunamar!

I absolutely loved this resort. I have been to Cancun before but in the past I have always spent most of my time doing things outside of the resort. This resort was fantastic. We spent most of our time here. The restaurant was good and the service was great. The staff really make you feel special by remembering your name and spending the time to make sure you have everything you need. The pool was fantastic and the beach was beautiful. We have travelled all through the Caribbean and Hawaii and this is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Just loved it.

First: I've been Starwood Platinum for 13 yrs. I'm IHG platinum, Marriott Gold, Hilton Honors Diamond. I know Hotels. I stay in a ton - all over the globe.
This was an outstanding resort property. Keep in mind, it's SVO (basically timeshare) so it's going to be different than a regular hotel.
- super clean: restaurants, rooms, grounds, pools, beach chairs
- staff was very professional
- studio was perfect size for a couple (don't squeeze more than 2 in there)
- location was the best on the strip - directly across from La Isla Mall.
- beach was kept as clean and seaweed free as humanly possible
Cancun has come a long way in the last 10 years! If you haven't been lately, I think you'll be surprised how nice it is today. We always felt safe and welcomed.
Notables: We went in last wk of Jan - 1st wk Feb. A section was being renovated and we never felt the construction. Otherwise resort was 90% occupied but it was very quiet and never felt crowded - very spacious grounds. All rooms have ocean views because of the property layout. We did do a timeshare presentation and received a healthy cash benefit and it took about 3.5 hours but was never pushy and we never felt pressured. We said no, but that's not because of the property, simply a matter of our travel goals.
We are going to book again. We loved it. If you are a couple, might want to avoid school vacations - as you would anywhere - but as an SVO property owners told us lots of kids in those seasons.
