Beautiful accommodations. Excellent staff and great restaurant. Room 208 is quiet and has a good courtyard view - birds singing are a nice touch. The demonstrations in the Zocalo were not inviting, so we spent most of our time outside the downtown area.

Dear guest, we are so happy to have had your visit. Thank you for letting us be part of your trip. Unfortunately, the Zocalo was not the best place to visit in June. Normally is a very inviting place with lots of families surrounding, enjoying music and different cultural offers. Hope you have the opportunity to visit Oaxaca again and see how nice the Zocalo is.

Upscale colonial hotel on Calle Independencia.
Very nice all modern rooms and central patio for dining. All have A/C.
Great location near zocalo, mercados and churches.
Breakfast not included but restaurant on site.
Good breakfast but only fair dinner.
Friendly staff.
Flexible when we wanted to change rooms since one of the 4 suites had no window!!
Would not recommend dinner at hotel.

But enjoy your stay.

My two sisters and I spent a week at this lovely hotel and enjoyed every minute. The location, a block and a half from the main square (Zocalo) gave us walking access to everything we wanted to see in the city. Staff was wonderfully welcoming and helped us with reservations, terrific tour guides and anything else we needed. Everyone from the restaurant staff, to the people taking immaculate care of the property and our rooms were friendly beyond the usual. The hotel also takes in birds that cannot live in the wild so an added plus was their amazing songs from the time their cages were uncovered to bedtime. Great rooms, lovely plants and flowers, roof top patio, plenty of hot water and good coffee! We'd go back in a minute.

I travel to Oaxaca several times a year and am always open to trying new hotels. This time I tried the Parador San Miguel and am very happy that I did.

The location is excellent, only 2 blocks from the Zocalo and Alcala providing easy access to most of the main tourist areas. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The room I had was in the back of the hotel and very quiet. The shower had great hot water and water pressure.

The hotel restaurant has an espresso machine and makes coffee to order, including the usual coffee suspects like cappuccino or lattes. We only ate breakfast there since we were eating other meals in other places, but there were quite a few choices on the menu and the omelets and other egg dishes were pretty darned tasty. They also make a really good Mexican sangria.

I've been traveling to Oaxaca for 15+ years and the Parador San Miguel was such a pleasant surprise. I am glad I found it and will be adding it to my regular hotel rotation in Oaxaca.

We stayed here for 7 nights... and made our choice based on the TripAdvisor reviews and some personal research. Everything exceeded our expectations

The location is within walking distance to the Cathedral & St Domingo... the market places... restaurants... shops and museums.

The reservation process was professional, friendly and helpful. We asked for a suite, but only regular and superior rooms were available. Our room #101 was just off the courtyard. It had a comfy king bed with nightstands, a desk and chair, two easy chairs. The closet was in the bathroom and had adequate hangers, but the shelves were a little tight. The bathroom was small, but serviceable. There are three floors with the rooms wrapped around the courtyard. There are no exterior windows in the rooms as this is a converted traditional Oaxacan house. There is an enclosed third floor reading room with an open terrazzo next to it.

We had two breakfasts and a dinner (a separate review will be posted) in the dining room. Great menu selections for both meals. The coffee was especially good.

The staff also arranged for two tours and recommended a cooking class that we really enjoyed. In addition they arranged for private transportation to and from the airport.

This place is very clean, The staff professional and very friendly. While we did encounter some noise from the courtyard in the early evening, it wasn't a nuisance. We were there for the earthquake last Friday. This is a solid building. I was taking a shower and didn't notice anything, which amazed my wife as she saw the drapes swinging and the room shake a bit.

The rate was great. We'd certainly stay here if we came back to Oaxaca,

Room Tip: Book early. Rooms at the back of the hotel are probably the quietest
