Small exhibit but well worth it. Primarily the works of Filemon Santiago, but some other interesting artists - loved the Jazz painting!!

⭐️⭐️
Two stars at best. It was a lovely building, yet the amount of artwork on display was minimal. There is one exhibition that highlighted an artist in particular (temporary exhibit). The top floor had one room and possibly 10-12 paintings.
$20MXN per person

There is a good variety in this little museum, housed in a beautiful and well-kept building with many arches. Most of the paintings are on the depressing side. There is one particularly gorgeous painting that bucks this trend. And speaking of a buck, that's essentially what it costs so you're not out much if the art isn't for you.

A painter named Filemon Santiago was on exhibit and the cost was free. Santiago's work was almost appealing as Diego Rivera is too me, so I was pleasantly surprised by our visit. The museum is local to the Zocolo center and can be reached by walking for anyone so inclined. This museum is small, so plan on about one hour to visit.

This museum is housed in a colonial building that dates back to around 1700. Although the rooms have been heavily modified in their transition into galleries you get a strong sense of the building's heritage. Check out the welded iron railings upstairs in particular.

The exhibits themselves are well worth visiting: a permanent Tamayo collection plus rotating exhibits. Conveniently located on Independencia.
