Sunday evenings, many of the zillions of restaurants in the Roma Norte district close early. I was looking for a steakhouse and came across this one. Had a great rumptsteak ("lomo"), cooked rare ("rojo" - and many restaurants in Mexico City will overkook a "rare" piece of meat), soft, juicy and with the slight flavour of the charcoal grill on which it was prepared.
As others have mentioned, the side dish, a salad, served on the same wooden plate as the steak, is not very large. But the bread rolls were very good, even though receiving them took a bit of time (the waiter explained later that this was due to the fact that they were warmed in an oven.)
Mentionable: a fairlly large choice of cocktails. After 5 in the afternoon, you get 2 cocktails for the price of one and that makes the price even more reasonable. The reason for this offer is on the one hand the fact that the main meal for this type of restaurants is over lunch-time, and also: many new restaurants have sprung up in the area in the course of the recent year, so competition is getting stiffer.
I had Margarita on the rocks. I have had better ones in Mexico City, but this one was perfectly alright.
For a dessert I took a "flan" with cream, and that was also excellent. A large portion, and both the pudding itself as well as the caramelised sauce had a well balanced flavour.
Some clients might not like the fact that two large TV screens over the entrance showfootball matches, and there is background music )speakers). But on the other hand, that can also be a nice distraction for those eating on their own.
The restaurant has WiFi.
