We came here on our first night in Mexico City for a romantic dinner and we were generally satisfied with our experience.

The restaurant looks amazing and has an elegant feel to it with lots of smaller dining rooms within. We were seated on the second floor overlooking the street in a smaller room with 3-4 tables in it. The service was professional but given we didn't speak much Spanish maybe not as personal or friendly as it could've been if we were fluent. In terms of drinks, we ended up ordering a glass of wine and a mocktail, but generally speaking we found the wine list to be quite expensive relative to the food and the rest of the city.

The food itself was great, with the pastas comparable to top restaurants that we have had in New York/LA/San Fran. The appetizers were less memorable, but the bread (and breadsticks) were outstanding (and FREE). If you are on a budget you can definitely get away with ordering fewer appetizers/entrees and eating more of the delicious bread.

Overall, a great spot to check out if you aren't feeling like Mexican food and want a more romantic atmosphere.

On top of excellent food, service was most attentive. I’d compare it to a military operation. Waiters kept a close eye on our table and served plates at ideal intervals with an ideal food temperature. The original and inventive food from a well-known Chef Elena Reygadas was incredible. The decor is really warm. The wine list is a bit short, especially of Mexican wines. Our dinner was just over £100 with a nice bottle of Mexican Chardonnay.

Every dish we tried was delicious, good service and environment. The restaurant is located in an old neighborhood near downtown, the place is beautiful.

We celebrated several birthday’s and worked our servers hard- they kept up and provided excellent service, especially Diego. Food was excellent and were even brave and tried the “ant mole”- not a fan, thought I was more adventurous than that. Everyone was happy with their meals. Enjoyed ourselves.

Rosetta provides a nice atmosphere and an italian(ish) menu with some interesting selections. The bread is delicious and you get a very, very good rye (corned beef is on the menu), and a very good foccacia. My wife had a bolognese that was very good. I had a tortellini in broth which was a little salty (My wife said it had duck also), but otherwise good. The ginger ice cream was also very good.

Make sure to make reservations otherwise you will have a wait. Fortunately, there is a great bar next door (review to follow) where you can wait. We waited for about one hour and 15.

The service is good and a great change from the local food you may be trying in your travels and tours. That said, the reason I don't rate it higher is because of one observation.

When they cleared the table, they took the left over bread and returned it to the "bread station" (we were sitting right across from it). The person there then threw out the rye bread, but placed the focaccia "back in service". I don't know if this is a training issue or logistics (i.e. why take the bread back there?), or standard practice.

Whatever the case, that was not good. While our bread was untouched, most restaurant visitors would object to this, and the workers would have no idea if we had touched the bread or not.

Had I not seen this, I would recommend without hesitation, but now...
