I friend of mine recommended me this hotel, I was going for business and it was my first time in Mexico city, this hotel is everything you want, the staff were so helpful and gave me the best possible service, the rooms were always clean, the location of this hotel is great, is in one of the nicest areas of the city and close to many nice restaurants and the Angel de la Independencia, also close to the main avenues.

The hotel is in a great location 5 minute walk to Zona Rosa & the must see “Angel de la Indepencia” Monument. The staff is friendly and the grounds are kept clean. The only downfall is that the walls are thin and you can hear everything in the hall. The pool area is nice, little small for the size of the Hotel but has a great view to the city of Mexico (the days we visited it was full of kids) I didn’t try the food but it looked good and prices are reasonable.

On another note there’s a K-Mart store across the street it’s open 24 hours but be careful and count your change before leaving the store (they shorted me change) and from what I hear it’s a common thing in Mx. City. I Hope you enjoy you’re trip!!

I was recently visiting Mexico city as I do every month and decided to try the Galeria Plaza, I was nicely surprised by this hotel that I had seen many times during my trips to Mexico but never visited. I booked a room in the VIP section where you get a VIP check-in on the 11th floor. Rooms are large with the amenities and staff are very courteous. The buffet is great and gives you an idea of the savors of Mexican food. There is a roof pool but the water was not very appealing due to a recent storm. Now that I know this little gem in the heart of Mexico city I will stay again at the Galeria Plaza.

Room Tip: best view and quieter rooms face the Angel de la Independencia

Everything in their control - the staff, facilities, price, and location - was perfect. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel and stay there again with one major caveat.

We were traveling with 2 young children, and found the staff to be very family friendly. They went the extra mile to talk with our kids, provided a crib for the room, and even sent little treats up to our room to celebrate a special occasion. The staff's English was much better than our limited Spanish and they were very helpful when checking in, giving directions, unclogging toilets, and arranging for a taxi to the airport on a Sunday morning. The rooftop pools (one cool shallow, one warmer with swim jets) were also great for the kids. The rooms and overall facilities were clean and modern. Rooms are non-smoking, have in-room safe, and have in-room wifi. While there are a few steps inside the front door, there is a lift available for strollers and those with mobility impairments.

The location can't be beat. It is a short walk to the Metro and a primary pickup location for the popular double-decker Turibus to other attractions. There is also a taxi stand at the hotel's front door, if you prefer that. There are numerous restaurants, coffee shops, and delicious street vendors in the blocks around the hotel. If you don't mind a scenic 20-30 minute walk, you can easily get to the Bosque de Chapultepec (museums, playgrounds, etc.) and the charming Condesa neighborhood. The sidewalks are generally pretty good in this area, so we did alright with a collapsible umbrella stroller to get around. Just be prepared to lift it over curbs and collapse it if you take any transportation.

Caveat: Request a room as far away from Calle Hamburgo as possible. Across the street (Calle Hamburgo) there is a empty lot (probably a construction site soon) and behind that is a nightclub with a retractable roof. When that roof opens and the music is pumping from 11:45-4AM (weekdays and weekends), you can hear it clearly in the rooms on that side of the building. Especially up on the 7th floor looking down into the club. Most of the family slept through it since they were exhausted from full days, but our light sleeper had to find ear plugs. If you are a light sleeper and avoid this side of the hotel, you should be good.

Room Tip: Request a room as far away from Calle Hamburgo as possible if you don't want to hear club music all night.
