The only thing to see is a paniting by Diego Rivera, everything else to shut off to the public. It is not worth the wait or your time to see unless you have plenty of it.

Always a favorite. Have been several times and never disappoints. The art work varies and is well curated. A must see. Free on Sundays.

One of the "must see" attractions in Mexico City. You have to see the Diego Rivera Murals....get a certified guide to explain them to you.
Of course this has to be seen in the context of the rest of the Zocalo´s attractions....Metropilitan Cathedral and Santo Domingo Square and it´s buildings.

This building occupies the entire east side of the Zocalo, measuring over 200 meters long. President of Mexico's offices is here. The main attration of the National Palace is the amazing desplay of murals of Diego River which is located on second floor. The building was divided into two sectons and decorated with marble and painted stucco. Above the central doorway, facing the Zocalo, is themain balcony. On Setember 15, Mexican Independence, at midnight, President of Mexico rings the bell (Bell of Dolores) and shouts "Viva Mexico" that hangs above the balcony. Grand courtyard beyound the central portal are open to the public. It close on Monday.
