Having visited Zihuat many times since 1977 (40 years!), we have stayed a LOT of places! We had our favorites – initially based on cleanliness only, at the very lowest price. But as our children came along and grew up and our budget moved us out of the “packpacker” level, we found ourselves settling in at a few places on Playa Madera. I think we have found our final destination at Casa Adriana. With the amazing view of the Bay that we’ve become addicted to, this little, locally owned hotel has everything we will ever need.
First, it has Lucy, the owner, whose fluency in English makes it hard for me to practice my Spanish. (Hi Lucy!) But well beyond that, the immaculately clean and colorful rooms with the well-stocked, open air kitchens overlooking the bay – well it’s perfect. We tend to go to market each day to stock up on fruits, bolillos, eggs, shrimp, etc. to cook for brunches and snacks, then eat out in the eve. I really appreciate having a blender, a juicer, a toaster, sharp knives, a coffee pot, etc. My only hesitation is I don’t want Lucy to get so busy that she doesn’t have room for us. But believe me, if needed, I know how to book months in advance. So in the meantime, if you want the perfect spot in Zihuat, Casa Adriana is it!More
