Our first time to Zihuatanejo and we fell in love with it. We did not once feel unsafe and we had also went into town - both Zihuatanejo, which is a walk from our hotel and quick and cheap taxi ride to Ixtapa. We could learn something from how happy everyone is there!! La Casa Que Canta is a paradise alone by itself. We had a room with a plunge pool and all the rooms are breathtaking. We barely left our room and if you don't have a room with a pool - that's ok too - there is so much privacy there - wonderful little coves all over - no fighting for chairs by the pool! This is extreme relaxation - we had a dual massage that was wonderful and massages are also available down the beach from hotel. There is a quick entrance to beach from our hotel with a few other hotels - great beach to walk on. La Casa Que Canta does not have beach chairs out there because they are built on the hillside but no need anyways. All the relaxation areas are all right on the ocean with the waves hitting the rocks - simply amazing! The staff doesn't hover over you - they really try to give you your space but they are always observant of where you are at in the hotel and to meet your every needs. The food there was incredible - beautiful but filling proportions - lots of seafood! There was free water, beer, pop and fruit in our room daily! So many wonderful little perks. We even had a 'Pet' Iguana that visited us daily and we spoiled him!! We even had a personal taxi driver who became our friend - we shopped with him and he showed us the town and history - Antonio made it fun for us. Can't say enough about this awesome trip. I am not sure if we will ever want to venture out from our 'Paradise' ever again. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Room Tip: We checked out a few of the rooms with the pools - they were all awesome!!!!

We just returned from a 5 night visit at this wonderful resort.
The resort itself is built into a hillside with all of the accomodations having beautiful views of the Zihuatanejo Bay.
The rooms are large and comfortable, with private verandas for sitting with an afternoon coctail watching the boats return to harbor. It is wonderful to sleep with the sounds of the waves crashing on the rocks below.
Dinners are served outside on the veranda with stunning views of the sunsets.
One of our favorite things about La Casa is the food. Every meal had new tastes to try, and were served beautifully.
As far as service, everyone at the resort was happy to fill every need with a smile.
A nice touch was glasses of water with lime served pool side, refilled throughout the day.
The Mojitos were the best I ever had.
I can't say enough about how wonderful this hotel is. It is a shame that some bad publicity about other areas of Mexico can scare people away.
Please come and experience this small corner of paradise.
If you pay attention to all of the negative news, it will not be here forever.

We went to the restaurant at this hotel for a special dinner. The view from the terrace made it worth the cost. Not inexpensive, but a wonderful experience, the food was delicious and service fabulous, sofiscated Mexican cuisine.

We have been to ZIH 8 years... previously all at The Tides (formerly Villa del Sol and now Viceroy). We loved it but was leary of the changes in ownership (and increase in price), so decided to try LCQC. We have always enjoyed our dinners here as one of the best in town. So glad we did. It is more private and cleaner. More stairs to climb but the views from all rooms are fantastico! I can even see the ocean and boats from the window in the shower. We enjoy our outdoor living room and patio. Complimentary drinks (water, soda and beer) in our refrigerator and fresh fruit daily.

We always come around April 15... after Easter week... which is low season in ZIH. Don't know why more of you don't come at this time. Weather is still great... sunny with some light clouds and light breeze which makes it very comfortable. This year was a little cooler and more windy, but still enjoyable.

Even in low season with low occupancy, the staff remains alert and ready to serve.

Heard there is a mosquito problem this year (see comments from Club IntraWest), but LCQC fumigates every other day so not a problem here.

Despite warnings of Mexico travel we have always felt safe in ZIH as long as you stay close to your resort, the reputable restaurants, and shopping in town during the day. Taxis are always nearby to take you where you need to go.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view. We love ours (Mar building #8), but can't compare to others. We booked a...

The most awesome place to stay! This was our second time to stay here and again the villa and the staff exceeded our expectations. I know that Mexico has some bad things going on, but I felt completely safe in this Villa. It is hard to describe the luxurious setting of this warm and inviting home. it's perfect to bring a group of friends or to spend a long weekend with your family. I have to say, I travel a lot and have stayed in some fabulous places, but the Villa El Ensueno surpasses them all. I am already trying to figure out how I am getting back there and when!!
