So, so accommodations. Toilet leaked in bedroom 2 even after reporting it. Phone was down the entire week. No cable TV. Beds and couch uncomfortably firm. Ants in kitchen. Definitely not what I expected for $US500/night. Lots of stairs without handrails, so not a good choice for older folks. Lovely view of ocean and close to restaurants. Martha is an excellent chef, well worth having a couple of meals in. Overall, a good stay, but not a good value.
My husband, our teenage sons, 12 year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Nicte. The 3 bedrooms, each on their own floor (and with their own bathrooms) allowed all of us privacy. When the boys snuck out at night, it didn't even wake us! The sound of the ocean right outside literally rocked us to sleep at night. The sunset views over the Pacific are just gorgeous... The house is outfitted with all the luxuries of home from wifi, to washer/dryer, coffee pot, microwave etc. The small private pool on the living room balcony is also a nice plus! Marta, the housekeeper, is awesome! She speaks English very well, has great suggestions from restaurants to excursions and keeps the house neat and tidy, so that Mom's really can enjoy vacation! She is an amazing cook! Typing this review has me craving her delicious red snapper! Let Marta cook for your family, you won't be sorry! As for location, you really can't beat it, super short walk to the Malecon shopping and night life. The Casa Nicte owners are also a pleasure to work with. We would love to return someday!
Wonderful place to stay at. Right on the beach. Family (6 of us) had a great time, very comfortable.
In all our years of going to PV, we had never stayed in the Centro area. It was very fun to be in the center of the real old town of Puerto Vallarta. We happened to be there for Semana Santos, the week-long celebration right before Easter. There is a park about 3 blocks from the house where there were big celebrations every night with bands, dancers and fireworks. It was quite a scene and was truly authentic Mexicano! There was noise on the beach at night, but Mark and John have set it up so that you simply call 611 and that goes directly to the police and they take care of the noise.
The house itself is small, but very sweet. There's not really much comfortable furniture. We spent our days on the balcony watching the activity at the beach which was packed all day every day with families and tourists. The bathrooms have been remodeled and are very nice, although there is no door on the master bath.
One of the best things about staying here is Marta, the cleaning lady who comes every day for 4 hours, makes the beds and cleans the house. She is just great and so helpful. She arranged for us to have wonderful massages right there in the house.
Layla's, a wonderful restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a half block away, very reasonable with excellent food and drinks.
Mark and John, the owners, were great and quick to respond to every need.
My family and I stayed at this beach house from October 29-November4, 2015. The home was exactly what we needed. It was close to everything from the grocery store three blocks away to the Malecon, which was three blocks in the other direction. There was very little noise from partiers due to it being Halloween and also from Day of the Dead celebrations, even with us being right on the beach. Marta, the housekeeper, is excellent and will work with you to make your stay enjoyable.
