“Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

Great place for kids. Hotel was clean, maid service was great. The air conditioner in the room was weak and noisy. There was plenty of meal options available, and we were all able to find something we liked to eat. The buffet changed daily. Staff was friendly and entertaining. We would definitely go back to this resort. Would recommend to friends and anyone with children.

We recently returned from a one week stay at the Crown Paradise Club Puerto Vallarta and I have nothing but excellent things to say! The staff was absolutely great and were more than willing to lend a hand at any time. The food was great and the activities offered makes this resort a great option for people of all ages. Our room was impecably clean and the resort grounds were maintained beautifully. The location was also excellent as many excursions depart from the marina which is a 2 minute walk away making it easy to book day trips to surrounding areas. We are already planning our next trip to return to Puerto Vallarta and I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Please listen to the other negative reviews. I wish we did.
Food was terrible. You have to purchase water and there is no fridge in the rooms. Therefore, no cold drinks in the room

Rooms are aged, as expected for a 3 star. However, not advertised as such.

I am not going to list all the negatives, as previous reviews have done it already. They are not lying.

We could have stayed at a 5 star for the same price.

We met others there that feel the same.

Our family had a great time in Puerto Vallarta. Our boys ages 9 & 11 had a blast. It was not too young for them as they made friends and played lots of volleyball and soccer on the beach. There were activites they could join any time of the day. We were able to make healthy choices off the buffet even though many dishes were greasy and buttery. We tipped the waiter every morning to make fresh fruit smoothies with fruit, yougurt and juice I selected from the buffet. There was a Snack Bar next to the activity pool that make good chicken wraps with flour tortillas (the buffet only served deep fried corn tortillias). The snack bar on the beach served really greasy french fries, plus hamburgers and hot dogs. The French Restaurant was very good. I would suggest booking at 9 am for two evenings in a row. The Italian was o.k. and I heard mixed about the Japanese. The kids drink menu at the bar was extremely sweet with sweet syrups, jello and mini marshmellows etc. My boys asked for half soda water to cut the sweet. A new General Manager started a month ago and was trying to cut costs. They used to offer healthier kids drinks such as fruit smoothies. The staff was very friendly and helpful except for the front desk. Half way through our week a group of young Mexican boys moved in next door and were playing loud music and screaming at 10:30 p.m. before they went out and again at 4:30 a.m. when they returned. The front desk assurred us every night they were checking out the next day. They were not honest. We finally changed rooms for our last night as we wanted to sleep. If this should happen to you complain to the airline representative. They will help you change rooms. Not the front desk. They only tell you what you want to hear and not the truth. The vendors on the beach were relentless. One couple counted 60 in 3 hours that came up to them and asked if they wanted to buy the same stuff. They were polite and walked away when we said no "Thank you" but that got tiring as they would interrupt our conversations. The other option would to sit by the pools but we came for the beach. The boys loved the Pirate ship tour and zip lining. We were able to book our tours on line which saved us time negotiating with tour people on the beach. We got the zip lining for free when we booked the Pirate ship. We had the hotel pack us a box lunch for the zip line tour as it did not include lunch. We ate lunch down by the creek which was nice and quiet compared to the restaurant which would have cost us at least $50 for lunch. The zip line tour with Mundo Nogalito would not let us take photos or bring our cameras. They took many photos and video and then tried to sell us the CD for 450 pesos at the end, without even seeing it. They said they would bring it to our hotel the next day. An option to purchase a photo would have been nice. A friend of mine went with another zip line company and they could buy photos and take their own camera. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the boys had no complaints at all. Our room was great and initially quiet overlooking the quiet pool with an ocean view. We were not expecting fancy and would not have complained except for our noisy neighbours and the way it was handled by the front desk. If they had been honest we would have changed rooms immediately.

Room Tip: Select the highest floor. We had a lady who liked walking in high heels above us. Try 472-474.

We just returned from our second stay at the Crown Paradise Hotel. My kids had a blast! The staff were polite and hard working. We had a family room. It was very basic and overlooked the parking lot. Despite this, it was very good. The kids enjoyed having their own beds and my husband and I loved having a king bed. I found the beds hard and the front desk was quick to offer adding a foam to the bed.
The kids pool was a true paradise for my children. It was so much fun to watch them have such a great time.
Every evening we had reservations at one of the "a la carte" restaurants. Our children went to the babyclub for free babysitting. They didn't mind because they were actually tired by 7 pm and the club offered a chance to unwind. The restaurants were terrific. The buffet was also good but catered to mexican style cuisine.
My only 2 complaints are that the resort often ran out of mint thus preventing me from drinking mojitos. Also, the restrooms by the pool were often dirty.
Overall, a wonderful holiday.
