My husband and I just returned from a week in Mazatlan and we stayed at Casa Lucila for 4 days. We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is beautifully set on a bluff overlooking the Pacifc just a 5 minute walk from centro Mazatlan - the old, historic colonial center. The hotel is immaculately clean. Our room was very spacious and so was the bathroom (all rooms have showers only I think). We had a terrace too. The hotel is small and quaint and quiet and private. The public rooms are really cheerful and beautifully appointed. We loved eating breakfast on the terrace (weather permitting - it can be windy) or inside in the restaurant. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh and amazing. We loved the wait staff - they were so friendly and helpful. We had lunch only once and drinks only once - but both experiences were terrific. The front desk staff is lovely too - they will fill any request. On the top level is a tiny pool with a few comfortable lounge chairs. My only request is that the hotel gets an umbrella or two for those of us who wish to lounge out of doors but out of the sun. We heard that the hotels owners, Conquita and Chris, has just sold out to a hotel chain. I hope this doesn't effect the quality and the personal touch that is offered.I travel a lot and thus I feel very comfortable recommending Casa Lucila. It's definitely the most luxurious hotel in town.

Room Tip: Facing the sea

I just discovered this hotel, it is beautiful, the service is great, the building is charming, the view from the restaurant , some rooms and the pool is fabulous. I am not sure , but I think it is adults only. This will be my favorite from now on in Mazatlan. (As long as I don't travel with children)
Had lunch and breakfast and it was delicious.

Dearest Anatgarcia,
Thank you so much for discovering us! We sometimes feel a little hidden off the beaten path but are very grateful you chose to stay with us. We are indeed adults-only, thank you for the note in case possible guests are unsure of that.
We hope to see you again soon!

We had an amazing time at Casa Lucila!! The hotel was updated extremely well and was very clean. The staff was amazing and treated us like royalty. I highly recommend staying here. It is walking distance to several restaurants, bars, the beach, and the town square.

Room Tip: Several of the rooms have amazing ocean views, but the two rooms on the top floor, you'll walkout directly to the pool.

We stayed for five nights at Casa Lucila and loved everything about it. We travel a lot, and always have our eyes peeled for fine boutique hotels, and this was one of the best ever. Quiet, serene, elegantly but simply decorated, and beautiful rooms w/ balconies overlooking the Pacific. The staff is well trained and extremely friendly; the owners -- Conquita and Chris -- are generous and friendly. And to top it off, their restaurant, underappreciated by our estimate, is very good (terrific ceviche).

Casa Lucila was absolutely delightful. Situated on the southern end crescent-shaped Playa Olas Altas, this hotel could not have been a better home base for our 4-day weekend in Mazatlán. Our room (Marina) was one of several with an expansive shared balcony that overlooked the ocean. The small infinity pool on the third floor was really fun.

The room and bathroom were spacious and then some. The staff was so very helpful and the restaurant was very tasty morning, noon and night. We were in town for a wedding so many of our meals were taken care of, but there were afternoon snacks, a breakfast and one dinner when chose to eat at Casa Lucila. The guacamole (and hot chips) and crab cakes were memorable! We'd stay at Casa Lucila again in a heart beat.

Room Tip: Go for one of the view rooms on the second level!

Dearest Playball925,
We are so glad to hear that you chose to stay with us and dine with us even while visiting Mazatlan for a wedding. That you chose to dine with us whenever possible is just an incredible comment for us. We hope that the next trip will be with us again and we'll make sure to have those hot chips ready for consumption!
Thank you again,
Sophia
