We spent two night at Casa Artista based on excellent reviews. We were not disappointed. Roberto took good care of us - helped us with our luggage, helped us find a place to park (on a steep cobblestoned road, hence the amazing views), recommended wonderful places to eat- he was the perfect host. The room we stayed in was well appointed with its own bathroom, and a small kitchenette area. The air/con worked well when we needed it. I took a dip in the small pool and it was very refreshing on a hot day. Roberto's lovely wife Betsy prepared award winning breakfasts for us. We are vegetarians and they accommodated for that well. We spent the day on one of the beaches near Manzanillo and had a wonderful time. Roberto is not only very creative artistically (you'll see his creations all around the place), but he is an amazing guitarist. He shared a couple of his CDs with us , and it was just the music we needed to hear as we traveled. If for no other reason to be in Manzanillo, you MUST stay with Roberto and Betsy at La Casa del Artista.

This is the most relaxing and unique place to stay in Manzanillo. Tucked away on the mountainside yet a short walk from wonderful beaches, this place offers a laid-back atmosphere amid tropical gardens with an amazing view of the bay. Wake up each morning to a wonderful breakfast lovingly prepared by the owners, Roberto and Betsy. The fruit plates are substantial enough to make a full breakfast yet they also offer a hot entree and great coffee. It's a great place to enjoy the beach and then retire to this little "heaven". Suites are large and welcoming and you can sit right outside our suite to enjoy a drink and see the sunset. This is a total experience you will truly enjoy.

Room Tip: Suite with private balcony offers the best views even as you lay on the king size bed.

For me, hospitality is a great deal more than simply providing a comfortable and attractive environment in which my needs as a guest are met. It is warmth, kindness and a generosity of spirit that delights in anticipating what you may want and providing it as a gentle surprise. It is waking up to a gentle tap on your door and discovering your own dining table set with a pot of hot coffee, cold juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and toast made from slices of bread baked fresh that morning. You can sit down then in the privacy of your own little terrace and watch the ocean ebb and flow below you while avian choristers sing you awake. And before you can finish your second cup of coffee, Roberto, the host of La Casa, returns with a fresh pot and a sincere question as to how you passed your night. He really wants to know, and he will do anything within his power to see to it that your days and nights are as comfortable and relaxed, or exciting, as you may wish. His kindness, cordiality and generosity - his hospitality - are what set La Casa Del Artista apart from the many other beautiful venues in Manzanillo. You will enjoy it.

Roberto and his family went above and beyond at making us feel welcome in their beautiful home. We stayed in the room with a private balcony with amazing views of Santiago Bay and enjoyed a great breakfast prepared for us each morning. From Casa del Artista you can walk almost anywhere including great beaches for swimming. We had a great time and look forward to our next visit.
