Love Balandra Beach. My brothers and I frequent La Paz and always spend a day or two swimming around Balandra. If you can handle the trek, keep walking to the last beach in the bay. The water is clearer, and the fish are more plentiful. For a real good swim, go from Balandra to Tecolote. The swim between the two has even better snorkeling and larger fish.

Go early in the day as it can get quite busy. Take a beach umbrella with you, there are some shade palapas but you might not get one.

Really cool semi-hidden beach. The water is pretty shallow, especially when the tide is out, so you can walk pretty far out in the water.

Samana Santa is a huge celebration here in the Baja sur. Everyone goes to the beach with family. Not just this beach, all beaches were packed. We got all the way there from San Jose del Cabo (2hr+ drive) and couldn’t even get to the beach it was so busy. Definitely bad timing for us.

This place is beautiful. We were luck enough to visit when it wasn’t too crowded . The second time we went there was not parking so we left and stopped by a beach closer to La Paz but no were near as nice.
