A great resort with brilliant facilities and top notch rooms! We stayed here for three nights and loved our stay. The resort is fab – we had a pool room which was lovely and big, great modern décor, really comfy bed, fridge, tv, towels and a big bathroom and they even throw in a great buffet breakfast which was really worth it. The resort itself is outside of Ao nang but don’t let that stop you – the hotel provide a free shuttle service from 7am until 10pm and even after 10pm it only costs 30 baht per person to get back. I really liked being out and away from the hustle and bustle of ao nang and would not hesitate going back to this fab resort. If you do want to you can walk down to the beach which is near to the hotel which is much quieter than ao nang and it takes about 10 minutes, so you have the best of both. The pools are lovely – small but great to cool down in after the beach.

Room Tip: Ask for a room without a connecting door!

Stayed here with friends as a quick getaway from Bangkok. The setting is idyllic, lush jungle setting, lots of wood, two swimming pools. The resort is about a 5 minute drive from the busy resort of Ao Nang, Krabi. The rooms are spacious all with lovely verandas and ample seating. The bathrooms are originally designed with natural stone showers, giving the feeling of being outdoors although safely protected from the risk of mosquitos. Actually during our stay in February, there weren't so many mosquitos, only at dusk. The breakfast was more muslim than european, but a good variety. A free shuttle operates constantly taking guests into Ao Namg, and collecting them later. The staff were very helpful with all aspects of our stay from holding luggage to organising trips. I would definitely recommend the Sunda Resort to solo travellers, couples and groups or familes.

i have nothing but good things to say about Sunda Resort.

staffs are helpful and friendly. checking in was hassle-free and they send our luggage straight to our rooms.

the rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. in fact the rooms are more like a chalet, actually, so privacy is ensured. air conditioner was good, bathroom was spacious (too spacious, in fact). i loved the king-sized bed.. more than enough for the two of us. they supplied extra pillows when we requested it.

swimming pool is a bit small though.

not much choices for breakfast, but the foods are enough to fill u up for the day.. their home-made strawberry yogurt was SO YUMMY that i still think about it to this day.

the hotel is a bit far from town and the beach but they make up for it by having free tuk-tuk service to town for the guests (about 5 minutes tuk-tuk ride). very convenient!

overall, this hotel is really value for money.

Pros
------------------
Pretty surroundings and resort in general
Quite clean
OK breakfast included
Good size on rooms
Free transport to and from beach/Ao Nang until 22:00
OK food in the restaurant
Free WiFi with good reach

Cons
------------------
A bit too expensive compared to other resorts in the same genre
No alcoholic beverages available
No soft drink available when kitchen is closed
No ice cream whatsoever
Pool water was a bit "milky" (not 100% clean)
Very hard mattresses (as in Thailand in general)
Expensive extra beds (as in Thailand in general)

In addition to the pros and cons, I have to say a line or two about the staff. Somehow they managed to give an impression of being friendly and at the same seem uninterested. They helped you if they could of course, but you were left with a feeling that they wanted you to feel that they had done you a favor. Spoken english was not very good in general. On the plus side, they were very kind and sent a car after us with something we forgot, which we got just before we entered the boat to Koh Yao Noi.

Just left our 5 night stay at Sunda resort.

We stayed in a pool room which was spacious and modern, only downside was no bath. The staff are very friendly and assisted us with any questions we had. The hotel is not on the beach but that doesnt matter as a free lift is always available. It is nice to be away from the busy ao nang, so quiet by the pool!

We had an unwanted lizard one night but that was due to leaving the bathroom door open and he got in. We also had so wanted visitors when 2 very friendly cats came to visit out room, desperately trying to get in, bless.

The major downside to this resort was the restaurant. Breakfast was ok but didn't change daily so after 5 of the same got a bit boring.

We ate lunch once which was ok, the carbonara however was laced in pepper so the meals had to be swapped between us so my husband handled the spiciness!

Dinner we ate once and I ordered a prawn yellow curry, ugh! the sauce was like soup and the total of about 5 prawns were chewy and not nice, this was not like a yellow curry we had elsewhere!!

Aside from the food though this place is lovely and great value for money you just have to eat out on ao nang beach as everywhere we ate there was yummy.
