Writing this while sat at a restaurant/cafe across the road from Phu Petra.

LOVE this resort, absolutely LOVE it. So peaceful (except when people don't control their kids). Rooms are amazing, setting is amazing, food is amazing and staff are some of the friendliest people we have ever encountered in Thailand.

We will definitely recommend and return but whoever thought 14 sun loungers was a good idea when you have 25 bungalows/50 guests needs their head examining.

That's the only downfall with Phu Petra. It's our last day and we can't relax and enjoy.

Dear our beloved guest:

Thank you for taking the time to share the feedback of your experience on TripAdvisor.
It is such a great pleasure to know that you had a memorable stay here at Aonang Phu Petra Resort.

For deck chair, we promise to bring it to management meeting whether we should buy more to make it sufficient for all guests. It's enough during green season but will be insufficient some days during high or peak season.

Actually, the guests can, however, inform our front desk in case of fully occupied of sun loungers during their stay. We will try our best to satisfy your needs anyway.

We again thank you for your comments. We trust that the team and I will have the opportunity to welcome you back to our resort on your next trip to Aonang, Krabi.

I have just return from my trip from Krabi yesterday, the hotel has good services with clean rooms and wonderfully quiet enviroment. Overall there is not much to complain about the hotel but the location is somewhat far from the city and beach, and you will rely alot on the transport as there is dark dark road before you reach the hotel which has no street lights, so if anyone prepare to go there prepare some amount of cash for transport, well you get also choose to take the shuttle service from the hotel which is on hourly basis but in case u feel like going out at night then you will need some help... cos beside the hotel as nothing... not even a shop... so it isolated.

Room Tip: set aside budget for transport and prepare to buy whatever you need for the day at one go

Dear our valuable guests:

We thank you for your compliment on our greatest services, rooms and environment at Aonang Phu Petra Resort. As you mentioned the resort's location is isolated and functions are not fully offered. We are sorry to make you felt in that way. However, We have to clearly say that we are an excluded unique 4-star boutique resort prioritize on privacy and serene atmosphere. We are far enough from the hustle-bustle but closed enough to the shopping areas. (It takes only 5 minutes to go to the beach and all shopping areas by our shuttle service. (Free of Charge)) Obviously, we are not your choice. You may love to stay somewhere else closed to the beach. For your information, you hardly find such unique 4-star spacious villa and personlize services as us on the beach and that actually makes us different up to now.

I give it into details a bit long trying to make you understand throughly. I appreciate your kindest understanding. To make you know that I am really disappointed you felt a bit annoying in these two areas. Hope this will make you note for our position.

If to think over and compare with good and bad, we still be your choice, please come back. We would love to have a chance to serve you once again in the future.

Best regards,

We stayed there for 7 nights and weren't dissapointed. It was excellent experience. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcome us and other guests with smiles all times.

The location is very quiet and pleasant atmosphere along with enormous cliff view,
just far enough away from the craziness of the main road, but close enough to
restaurants, convenient stores....

The breakfast was great each day, with so many choices and the eggman made our eggs
prefectly.

Room was spacious, clean, modern, good quality sheets/towels, well furnished modern
and huge bathroom. Especially, Bathroom was amazing with great toiletries!

You are given bath towels as well as beach/pool towels every day and you were
allowed to take them out of the resort which is very convenient. Swimming pool was
very clean and nice view of mountain, cocktails were all good value .

Wifi was free in room and also lobby. We sometimes took our time for internet. This
was what we needed during my stay.

Thai massage on site was so fantastic.

Would love to return to Phu Petra Resort and highly recommend it...

Room Tip: Hillside Villas are great location here.

In terms of natural beauty of the location, Aonang Phu Petra is hard to beat. It is situated at the base of a huge limestone cliff and surrounded by jungle. I will never forget the view from the pool, just amazing. However, the resort could invest in a few more deck chairs as they can at times all be occupied.

The resort itself is beautiful too. The gardens around the grounds are lovely and the little wooden signs advising the plants' species are a cute touch.

The lobby area has two computers for free Internet use which is handy while you're waiting to be picked up for the day's activities.

Also, the resort provides an hourly shuttle to Aonang which saves you the 15-20 minute walk to the centre of town. The road to town goes through the jungle and if you are walking at dusk or night, be careful as we came across a large cobra on a tuk-tuk ride home one night!

I stayed in a Hillside Villa which was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was huge. I especially loved the extra deep bath.

The service was okay but nothing special. We had a few minor annoyances during our stay.

We arrived at the hotel at around 9 am. I knew that the check in time was 2 pm so we checked in and were told to relax around the pool until our room was ready at about 1 pm. We saw cleaners coming in and out of rooms so we checked back with reception at 1 pm. Room still not ready, so back to the pool we go. We see more rooms being completed so check back at 1.45 pm. Room still not ready. It was finally ready at 2 pm on the dot. Not a huge deal as this was the official check in time but surely they could have made our room a priority for cleaning, seeing as though they knew we were waiting for it?

Also, the first night we stayed, we organized a wake up call so we could get up early for a tour the next morning, however we also received the same wake up call the morning after. This was a bit annoying as this morning was to be our first sleep in after five mornings of extremely early wake ups!

We ate out every night so I can't comment on the food, however we did order chicken satay skewers for lunch around the pool one day but we were not confident that the chicken was fully cooked so we didn't finish them. The cocktails however are delicious and reasonably priced. Try the Honey Monkey, yum!

On the whole, the pluses outweigh the minuses at the Aonang Phu Petra but there are definitely improvements to be made.

Dear our beloved guest:

First of all, we must thank you for all great reviews you give to us. For some suggestions from you regarding some points, we will of course discuss with management team.

For deck chair, we promise to bring it to management meeting whether we should buy more to make it sufficient for all guests. It's enough during green season but will be insufficient some days during high or peak season.

We apologise for wake up call that our staff make a mistake calling you without any request from you. Furthermore, for the chicken steak skewer that you are not so sure of whether it is fully cooked or not. We will surely investigate of what happen and will fix it promptly.

For check-in time, we thank you for your understanding. As you stated, our check in time is at 2.00 pm. We will of course allow guest to check in a bit earlier if the room is all clear and completely cleaned. Some days our housekeepers need to clear the room which just check out (mean they need longer time to finish it) Some days there is high traffic of checking in and out that they need to make all room clear and clean in time as specified of our check in time standard. We know that some guests come to check in very earlier. If we have the room finished, we can definitely let our guest in a bit earlier. The event of which we do not release the room to our guest before 2.00 pm. because it is not fully cleaned and set to our standard or else our guest may complain of dirty room which we do not wish it happen.

Last but not least, we promise to keep our service up to standard. It is possible that sometimes our staff initiate unprofessional services. In such situation, we are willing to receive feedback from you and we will even more appreciate should we know it right away during your stay because you give us a chance to improve it immediately. Our promise to train our staff toughly to deliver you the best hospitality with Thai smile.

As we were on our honeymoon, and perhaps since the resort wasn't full, we were upgraded to a beautiful, HUGE room where they took elaborate measures to make sure we were delighted with our welcome. We were greeted with refreshing, fruity drinks right away and someone had taken the time to use fresh leaves and flowers to decorate the "towel swans" on our bed and drawn a bath and floated more fresh flowers on top of this!! We loved all these personal touches! Also, the grounds looked so natural and well-kept. The pool had an amazing view of the mountains, and was definitely gorgeous!

However, at dinner time, the restaurant was completely empty (both of service staff and of patrons) and the lights had been completely dimmed... it did not feel very welcoming, and to be honest we didnt know if the restaurant was even open. It was a while before someone greeted us and asked if we wanted a table. The waitstaff was very courteous and attentive, but we thought the food to be on the pricey side. On the other hand, breakfast, which was included in our booking, had a great selection and was great!

In the morning around 8am, I awoke to someone raking on the asphalt right outside our room. I thought this rather inconsiderate, but I assumed it would probably stop soon. I was wrong. It went on for what seemed like an hour--it was almost comical how long it went on. I did not complain, but I was rather grumpy that morning.

Overall, we enjoyed ourselves here. For better or worse, we had to slow down our pace. I think this is a beautiful, small, peaceful resort that is tucked away from the main tourist strip of Ao Nang's town. The service was sufficient. It was nice to relax and enjoy our beautiful room, the gorgeous view from the pool area, and the peace and quiet here. However, there was not much within walking distance (just a bar a cross the street and dark dirt roads in every other direction) and I did feel a bit confined to the resort, which isn't huge. They do provide a free shuttle downtown every hour...but we found downtown Ao Nang to be annoyingly touristy and grimy. (Personally, if I could do it over, I probably would have skipped Ao Nang altogether on our trip).
Other pluses: The front desk staff were really helpful in finding out ferry times and booking them for us. And they have a foozball table!

Dear our beloved guest:

We thank you for giving us a chance to serve you. We delight for good comment you left for us and hope for a chance to best serve you in the future.

We upgrade you to better room type not because it is not full but oppositely because they are all occupied, then we need to upgrade one room to higher category and it's you we choose as you are couples of honeymooner. In normal situation we hardly upgrade anyone free of charge.

For the restaurant, it's true that you will find lights a bit dimmed of some nights. This is because we are green hotel and want to save the energy when there is no guest use our service. However, when guest(s) enter the restaurant, all light will be turned on. Our restaurant is opened from 7.00 am. to 11.00 pm. and our restaurant staff are around. We are sorry for the case that our staff may not come to you immediately at that time.

We are sorry for the noise awoke you in the early morning. Up to now, I am trying to figure it out what your room number so I know the source of that noise. For your information that we did not do any construction or renovation at the time of your stay. I will; however, not make any excuse but sorry for such annoying sound.

As you mentioned we have shuttle service leaving every hour to McDonald which take only 3 Besides that, we also provide motorcycle service, massages, several of one day tours, city tour and adventure trips. All these information, you can reserve or ask for more information with our reception at front desk.

We thank you for your positive comment as it fills our spirit as a hard worker. For negative one, we promise to improve it upto our standard.
